We are seeking a strategic and technically adept Lead Data Scientist for the Demand and Capacity Management automation function. This role is pivotal in shaping our flagship product capacity management software. You will lead governance efforts, identify costly infrastructure usage, develop forecasting models, and partner with various teams to assess CapEx and OpEx for capacity solutions. The role involves defining strategy, optimizing resource usage, and conducting proactive capacity trend analysis.

  • Ensure infrastructure requirements are embedded in growth and transformation initiatives.
  • Develop and enhance forecasting models and scenario planning tools.
  • Partner with Technology Infrastructure, Cloud, and Finance teams for CapEx and OpEx assessment.
  • Define and drive the vision and strategy for Product and Data Centre Capacity Management.
  • Lead governance and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize technology resource usage.
  • Conduct proactive capacity trend analysis and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Perform advanced statistical analysis on large-scale time series data.
  • Leverage big data tools (Trino, Spark, AWS Athena) to build scalable models.
  • Design and maintain data pipelines and analytical workflows using Python.
  • Apply GitOps practices for version control and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering governance and control functions in complex technology environments.
  • Solid grasp of application trending and forecasting.
  • Certified in public and private cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with network technologies, vendors, and service providers.

Job Details

We are seeking a strategic and technically adept Lead Data Scientist for the Demand and Capacity Management automation function. This role is pivotal in shaping our flag ship product capacity management software.

  • Lead continuous governance efforts, driving the adoption and integration of standard methodologies for efficient technology resource utilization.
  • Identify and address costly or unjustified infrastructure usage; collaborate with operations, engineering, and proposition teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure infrastructure requirements are embedded in all growth and transformation initiatives.
  • Develop and enhance forecasting models and scenario planning tools to support the future-state hybrid operations of LSEG Technology.
  • Partner with Technology Infrastructure, Cloud, and Finance teams to assess CapEx and OpEx for capacity solutions, chipping in to accurate budgeting and financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the vision and strategy for Product and Data Centre Capacity Management in close collaboration with senior technology collaborators.
  • Lead governance and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize technology resource usage and integrate standard methodologies.
  • Conduct proactive capacity trend analysis and host monthly forums with Application Service Owners to provide strategic recommendations.

Technical & Analytical Expertise:

  • Perform advanced statistical analysis on large-scale time series data to support planning and forecasting.
  • Leverage big data tools (e.g., Trino, Spark, AWS Athena) to build scalable models and insights.
  • Design and maintain data pipelines and analytical workflows using Python.
  • Create clear, actionable reports and visualizations to communicate insights to collaborators.
  • Apply GitOps practices for version control and integrate with CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience delivering governance and control functions in sophisticated, dynamic technology environments.
  • Solid grasp of application trending and forecasting.
  • Certified in public and private cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with network technologies, vendors, and service providers.
