Job Summary

As Lead Digital Creative Copy & Concept, you will shape the creative direction for dm in digital communication. You will develop strong digital-first campaigns and effectively translate existing core ideas into digital experiences suitable for various channels. With your conceptual strength, textual excellence, and deep social media expertise, you will create relevant communication that reaches people and makes brands tangible. You will also guide and develop junior creatives, contribute to workflow planning, and integrate AI tools into creative processes.

Must Have

  • Completed degree in communication, language, media or comparable education
  • 6-8 years of experience in Concept & Copy, ideally in digital or agency environment
  • Excellent conceptual skills: campaign development, guiding ideas, storylines, digital mechanics
  • Ability to structure complex brand and product messages for digital touchpoints
  • Deep social media competence (trends, content formats, communities, platform logic)
  • Profound understanding of retailer communication (like dm) and cross-channel thinking
  • Openness and motivation to integrate and develop AI tools and new technologies
  • Strong language feeling, confident style, and high precision in various tonalities
  • Very good German and good English skills
  • Passion for ideas, excellent quality, and team spirit

For dm-drogerie markt, Germany's most popular retailer, we have been the lead digital agency since 2010 and have accompanied the company every step of its transformation from stationary retail to omnichannel.

In close cooperation with dm branches in Germany, Austria, and Eastern Europe, more than 50 creative minds manage and develop the strategy and e-commerce platforms for dm in these countries, while also taking care of all other online activities such as social media, CRM, digital branding, campaigns, and content marketing.

As Lead Digital Creative Copy & Concept, you will shape the creative direction of dm in digital communication. You will develop strong digital-first campaigns and effectively translate existing core ideas into impactful and channel-appropriate digital experiences. With your conceptual strength, textual excellence, and deep social media expertise, you will create communication that is relevant, reaches people, and makes brands tangible.

What Awaits You

  • Conception and development of innovative digital-first campaigns – from the core idea to cross-channel implementation
  • Translation of existing core ideas, brand messages, and product content into digital, channel-appropriate narratives for dm's communicative ecosystem
  • Creation of inspiring and channel-appropriate copy: headlines, claims, social content, scripts, long & short copy
  • Sparring with Design, Strategy, Account Management, Media & Production – including co-designing priorities, processes, and creative standards
  • Professional guidance and further development of junior creatives, including feedback, coaching, and methodological support
  • Contribution to planning & managing creative workflows and setting qualitative standards in the team
  • Confident presentation of concepts and consulting on digital mechanics
  • Introduction of new working methods and impulses, especially in dealing with AI-supported tools and creative processes

What You Bring

  • A completed degree in communication, language, media, or a comparable education
  • At least 6-8 years of experience in Concept & Copy, ideally in a digital or agency environment
  • Excellent conceptual skills: campaign development, core ideas, storylines, and digital mechanics
  • The ability to precisely structure complex brand and product messages and effectively prepare them for digital touchpoints
  • Deep social media competence – you are part of relevant platforms, use them actively, know trends, content formats, communities, and platform logics from practice
  • A profound understanding of the communication of a retailer like dm and the ability to think cross-channel
  • Openness and motivation to integrate and further develop AI tools and new technologies in daily creative work
  • Strong language feeling, confident style, and high precision in various tonalities
  • Very good German and good English skills
  • Passion for ideas, excellent quality, and team spirit
