Job Summary

WongDoody, a creative technology agency with 30 years of experience, is seeking a Senior Digital Strategist. This role involves developing sophisticated strategic concepts and cross-channel communication experiences, creating data-driven analyses, and leading strategic content on client projects. The strategist will identify innovative business areas, trends, and technologies, collaborate with creative and performance teams, and experiment with AI tools to drive marketing solutions for strong brands in the FMCG and retail sectors.

Must Have

  • Develop sophisticated strategic concepts and cross-channel communication experiences
  • Create data-driven analyses and research (market, competitors, target groups)
  • Develop insight- and data-driven creative briefs and client strategy documents
  • Identify innovative business areas, trends, and technologies
  • Lead strategic content on client projects, present to clients, and provide continuous strategic consulting
  • Design and facilitate strategy and creative workshops
  • Ensure on-brief creative quality while adhering to timing and budget
  • Collaborate closely with creation and performance teams
  • Test and evaluate new marketing channels and advertising formats
  • Stay updated with digital marketing trends and integrate new technologies
  • Experiment with AI tools and technologies for innovative marketing solutions
  • Own and manage relationships with external partners and vendors
  • Guide junior team members
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in strategic planning with a creative agency
  • Expertise in B2C marketing, FMCG, and retail communication
  • Data-driven and user-centric way of thinking and working
  • Passion for conceptual ideas and digital ecosystems development
  • Proven track record of developing effective brand and communication strategies
  • Digital-first strategic thinking
  • Experience with AI tools and technologies in a marketing context
  • Own social/content analytics for organic content and owned web (define KPIs, content frameworks, benchmarks)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in both German and English

Good to Have

  • Experience in e-commerce and CRM
  • Ability to build and maintain automated, reliable dashboards (Looker Studio/Data Studio, GA4, Sheets/Excel)

What you can expect

  • Develop sophisticated strategic concepts and cross-channel communication experiences.
  • Create data-driven analyses and research (market, competitors, and target groups) for the development of a strong strategic foundation.
  • Develop insight- and data-driven creative briefs, with clearly defined goals, and client strategy documents.
  • Identify innovative business areas, trends, and technologies, and direct implications for clients.
  • Lead strategic content on client projects, regularly present to and exchange with clients, and provide continuous strategic client consulting
  • Design and facilitate strategy and creative workshops within the team and with clients.
  • Ensure on-brief creative quality while adhering to timing and budget constraints.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in creation and performance teams to enhance digital marketing content.
  • Test and evaluate new marketing channels and advertising formats.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in digital marketing, evaluate new technologies, and integrate them into our marketing strategies
  • Experiment with AI tools and technologies to drive innovative marketing solutions.
  • Own and manage relationships with external partners and vendors to support integrated programs.
  • Guide junior team members.

What we'd love to see

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in strategic planning with a creative agency.
  • Expertise in B2C marketing, FMCG, and retail communication—e-commerce and CRM are a plus.
  • Data-driven and user-centric way of thinking and working.
  • Passion for conceptual ideas and the development of digital ecosystems.
  • Proven track record of developing effective brand and communication strategies that deliver business outcomes.
  • Digital-first strategic thinking and understanding the challenges and opportunities that consumer brands and retailers face.
  • Experience with AI tools and technologies in a marketing context.
  • Own social/content analytics for (mostly) organic content (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn) and owned web: define KPIs, content frameworks, and benchmarks tied to business outcomes.
  • Optional: Build and maintain automated, reliable dashboards (using tools like Looker Studio/Data Studio; GA4; and Sheets/Excel) that run on weekly/monthly/quarterly cadences and deliver clear management summaries.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Positive and proactive attitude, sense of humor, collaborative, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in both German and English is required.
