The Lead Engineer/Technologist – Train Control will work with customers, various suppliers, engineering teams, and industry agencies to identify and capture requirements to execute controls design and implementation. This group is made up of over a dozen subsystem functions and components and is the overall system integrator for third-party/customer-supplied equipment and a driver of overall infrastructure for the Locomotive Control System.
The Lead Engineer/Technologist – Train Control will play a pivotal role in the development of the Locomotive Control System by executing a variety of projects from follow-on orders (Requisitions) through new product developments ensuring proper definition of requirements and interfaces for Locomotive Control Systems. The engineer will design, integrate, and validate Train Control subsystem functions for locomotives suitable for application in both English and non-English speaking environments by using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, and procedures. In addition, the engineer will lead/support investigations for root-cause identification and resolution of reliability issues.
