Job Summary

Join Hinge's Dating Outcomes Group as a Lead Product Designer to drive impactful work across the core dating experience. This senior individual contributor role focuses on transforming complex challenges into emotionally intelligent, premium user experiences. You will lead design for Hinge’s core dating experience, from first impressions to lasting connections, partnering deeply with Product, Engineering, Research, and Data Science to define the next generation of intentional and human-centered experiences.

Must Have

  • Lead end-to-end design for the core dating experience, translating strategic goals into intuitive user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI.
  • Maintain and elevate a high bar for visual, interaction, and motion design while evolving design systems.
  • Mentor designers, lead critiques, and model strong collaboration to refine design quality and foster continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate effectively with Product, Engineering, Research, Data Science, Operations, and Policy to define vision and roadmaps.
  • Drive experimentation and innovation through prototyping and emerging technologies.
  • Model curiosity, humility, and generosity, helping cultivate a design culture rooted in shared learning.
  • Push the boundaries of digital intimacy to make Hinge the most intentional, human-centered dating app.
  • 8+ years in product design, including 3+ years leading design for mobile consumer products.
  • Proven track record of driving end-to-end design across complex, multi-surface experiences in fast-paced environments.
  • A portfolio demonstrating exceptional product thinking, craft excellence, and ability to translate user insights into elegant, impactful solutions.
  • Expertise in Figma, prototyping, and design systems; ability to work fluently across iOS and Android.
  • Experience leading design through ambiguity and influencing strategy through storytelling and systems thinking.
  • Strength in research collaboration, synthesis, and hypothesis-driven iteration.
  • Skilled in workshop facilitation, stakeholder management, and executive communication.
  • Deep understanding of accessibility, inclusivity, and ethical design principles.

About the Role:

Join Hinge's Dating Outcomes Group as a Lead Product Designer to drive impactful work across the core dating experience. This role is for a senior individual contributor who thrives in ambiguity, elevates team craft, and can turn complex challenges into emotionally intelligent, premium user experiences.

In this role, you’ll lead design for Hinge’s core dating experience—from first impressions and conversations to helping people form lasting connections. You’ll connect vision to execution, guiding product teams toward cohesive, user-centered outcomes that balance human needs with business goals. You’ll partner deeply with Product, Engineering, Research, and Data Science to define the next generation of Hinge experiences that feel intentional, emotionally intelligent, and unmistakably human.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end to end design for the core dating experience, translating strategic goals into intuitive user flows, prototypes, and high fidelity UI that shape how millions of people connect with confidence.
  • Maintain and elevate a high bar for visual, interaction, and motion design while evolving design systems and anticipating cross surface dependencies to deliver cohesive, scalable experiences at global scale.
  • Mentor designers, lead critiques, and model strong collaboration to refine design quality, strengthen craft, and foster a culture that consistently strives for best in class outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with Product, Engineering, Research, Data Science, Operations, and Policy to define vision and roadmaps, align stakeholders, present to leadership, and deliver outcomes tied to user and business goals.
  • Drive experimentation and innovation through prototyping and emerging technologies, applying cultural and technological insights to design emotionally resonant experiences in complex spaces like dating, connection, and trust.
  • Model curiosity, humility, and generosity, helping cultivate a design culture rooted in shared learning and continuous improvement.
  • Push the boundaries of digital intimacy to make Hinge the most intentional, human centered dating app in the world.

What We’re Looking For

Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York City. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
