Cadence is seeking an experienced Lead Technical Communications Engineer to join the CSG product documentation group. This role involves leading documentation for CSG products, including user guides, reference manuals, application notes, online training, and tutorial videos. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineers, edit content for clarity and accuracy, manage documentation for multiple products, and contribute to defining documentation standards and automating processes.

Must Have:
  • Create, review, and edit product documentation.
  • Edit draft content from engineers for grammar, clarity, and style.
  • Ensure content quality and technical accuracy.
  • Manage documentation for multiple products independently.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technical Communications, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Minimum 4 to 8 years of technical writing experience.
  • Exceptional technical writing, proofreading, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Oxygen XML Author, MS Word, MS Visio, Adobe Acrobat.
  • Hands-on experience with XML and DITA standards.
  • Knowledge of Perforce and JIRA.
  • Excellent research skills.

We seek an experienced technical writer to join the CSG product documentation group. We are looking for someone passionate about precise language and who enjoys communicating clearly and effectively through written media.

As a Lead Technical Communications Engineer, you will lead documentation for CSG products. The documentation deliverables include user guides, reference manuals, application notes, online training, and tutorial videos for our broad line of customizable SoC products.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with engineers and subject matter experts across different locations to create, review, and edit product documentation.
  • Edit draft content from engineers for grammar, clarity, writing style, and standards adherence.
  • Assist engineers in understanding and adopting a structured authoring environment, utilizing topic-based writing methodologies, and creating minimalist content.
  • Ensure content quality and technical accuracy by scheduling technical reviews and addressing feedback from those reviews.
  • Independently manage documentation for multiple products, including handling documentation issues, utilizing the content management system, and publishing content.
  • Contribute to Technical Publications initiatives, such as defining and implementing documentation standards and best practices and automating documentation processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technical Communications, Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • A minimum of 4 to 8 years of experience as a technical writer.
  • Exceptional technical writing, proofreading, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in documentation tools such as Oxygen XML Author (required), MS Word (required), MS Visio (required), Adobe Acrobat (required), and Atlassian Confluence (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with XML and DITA standards.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools like Perforce and bug tracking tools like JIRA.
  • Excellent research skills and the ability to learn new technologies related to Technical Communications.
  • Awareness of industry trends, technologies, and best practices in technical writing.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with strong decision-making skills.
