Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.
Netflix has been changing how people watch shows and movies, enabling seamless on-demand access across a wide variety of streaming devices, from set-top boxes to mobile devices to TVs. Recently, we have expanded our entertainment offering with Live programming, like the NFL Christmas Day Games, Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Fight, and a weekly WWE series that was recently launched in January of 2025. The Netflix Live Team is now excited to expand our live programming to support local content in Mexico. We are looking for an experienced Live Technical Launch Manager with deep knowledge of the media landscape in Mexico and the LATAM region to help drive the success of our developing local content slate.
This Technical Launch Manager role will be located in Los Angeles or Los Gatos, California. You will be responsible for leading the development of the new operational workflows, partnerships with local content partners, and supporting the development of new Live content. Once the shows are live, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end live video pipeline, from the point of acquisition with our broadcast production partners to the hundreds of millions of global end-user devices.
In partnership with dozens of teams and hundreds of cross-functional partners, you will plan and execute the critical path of the Live feeds and supporting infrastructure for Netflix's largest shows.
Before the event, you will ensure that all partners are aligned on team responsibilities and show-specific features (broadcast technology, localization and accessibility requirements, social and marketing needs, member-facing features), and follow up on execution. You will lead readiness reviews and assess risks, and help drive them to resolution. You will schedule, coordinate, and document pre-event testing and validation. You will plan for and lead all transmission testing, rehearsals, and coordinate the on-call rotations and staffing requirements.
During the event, you will lead the Live Command Center, act as the call leader, lead the observability and health metrics monitoring, and manage communication across all teams, 3rd party partners, and executive leadership. Hands-on operational steps will be required, including leading incident response management, end-user-device testing, and verification of critical show elements such as SCTE marker insertion, closed captions, and global language support.
After the event, you will compile operations summaries, coordinate retrospectives, and follow up on reported incidents to ensure readiness ahead of the next event
You are fluent in speaking, reading, and writing Mexican Spanish, and fluency in Portuguese is a plus.
Experience: You have experience in planning, leading, and operating live shows in the streaming domain. NOC or Broadcast Master Control experience is a big plus. You have directly supported 24x7 linear live streaming (FAST, OTT, MVPD). You have worked closely with engineers (as a project manager, technical program manager, operations engineer, etc.). You have handled incidents in the context of live streaming.
Domain Knowledge: You are knowledgeable about live streaming systems. You have a good understanding of broadcast technology, encoding, cloud services, and media delivery via CDNs.
Essentials: You are a great communicator and very organized. You collaborate effectively with all stakeholders. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and remain calm and focused amidst ambiguity. You can execute the details, and at the same time, you are motivated to drive the strategic direction of the team. You are excited about delivering live shows embedded in the Netflix culture.
Travel Requirements: You have the authority to work full-time in the United States and can travel throughout the LATAM region and frequently to Mexico. This position is a hybrid role, and you must be on-site in the Netflix Los Angeles or Los Gatos office during Live events.
