Job Description

Netflix is building its next generation of advertising business tools. The Ads Consumer Insights team aims to deliver research and insights that guide the development of advertising experiences for millions globally and for advertising clients. This leadership role offers a significant opportunity to impact a zero-to-one initiative, partnering with Product, Data Science, Design, Business, Engineering, and other teams to develop and deliver best-in-class quantitative research.

Must Have:
  • 10+ years leading mixed methods research supporting product innovation and development.
  • 5+ years of experience in ads, understanding and balancing tradeoffs between business, consumers, and advertisers.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams of researchers specializing in qualitative/quantitative studies and analytical approaches.
  • Clear, demonstrable experience as a product researcher, experience strategist, service designer, or similar role.
  • Effective verbal and written communication style, distilling complex research into actionable insights.
  • Experience presenting to and consulting with senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Build a team of researchers representing advertisers and consumers.
  • Influence business decisions by encouraging creative thinking.
  • Partner with Design, Product Management, Engineers, and Data Scientists.
  • Engage internal and external partners worldwide to uncover pain points, unmet needs, or workarounds.
  • Bring order to ambiguity and help the team prioritize high-impact initiatives.
  • Develop a team culture that promotes IC health and development, deep partnership, and trusted consultation.

The Ads Consumer Insights team’s goal is to lead, uncover, and deliver research and insights that translate directly into product and business impact, guiding the development of advertising experiences and features enjoyed by millions of people all over the world, and by our advertising clients.

The scope of this role is a tremendous opportunity for leadership and impact in a zero-to-one initiative within Netflix. This role will partner with Product, Data Science, Design, Business, Engineering and other cross-functional and research teams to understand their insights needs and develop, execute, and deliver best-in-class quantitative research to address them.

The Ideal Background:

  • 10+ years leading mixed methods research supporting product innovation and development.
  • 5+ years of experience in ads; particularly understanding and balancing the tradeoffs between our business, our consumers, and our advertisers.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams of researchers who specialize in qualitative/quantitative studies and various analytical approaches.
  • Clear, demonstrable experience as a product researcher, experience strategist, service designer, or similar role, with a proven record of seeing products from concept to delivery
  • Effective verbal and written communication style, distilling complex multi-method research reports into understandable, compelling, and actionable insights
  • Experience presenting to and consulting with senior leaders and stakeholders, ideally as part of a leadership team

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Build a team of researchers that will represent our advertisers and consumers to surface unseen opportunities and influence the direction of our growing ads business.
  • Influence business decisions by encouraging creative thinking that creates major movement or shifts our direction, preventing us from making uninformed decisions or wasting resources, and improving the overall ad experience.
  • Partner with Design, Product Management, Engineers, and Data Scientists to create a competitive advantage for Netflix Ads.
  • Engage internal and external partners worldwide to uncover pain points, unmet needs, or workarounds that inspire innovations that support our growing advertising business.
  • Bring order to ambiguity and help the team prioritize the highest impact initiatives for the business.
  • Develop a team culture that promotes IC health and development, deep partnership, and trusted consultation with stakeholders.
