A Brief Overview

The Marketing Manager will take a lead role in managing the day-to-day marketing duties to support the overall strategy of the Ontario Reign business. This position will work collaboratively across multiple touchpoints including website, social media, mobile app, email/CRM and advertising/media buying to ensure all marketing campaigns are cohesive and deployed in a timely manner.

What you will do

  • Ideate, create, and integrate the marketing calendar including but not limited to the following channels: TV, radio, OOH, digital (web, mobile, social & email), gameday, and special events to support the daily operations of the organization. Manage Ontario Reign and related business promotions & activations with radio, digital, influencer, and broadcast media partners.
  • Strategize to grow and develop our CRM database through automated messaging, email marketing and data capture campaigns.
  • Responsible for hiring, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, and providing day-to-day guidance and leadership for the team's marketing department.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Leadership team (comprised of Creative Director and Communications Manager) in approving promotional and sponsored digital content on social channels, website, and emails.
  • Collaborate, strategize and help build the team's annual promotional calendar including theme nights, theme night ticket offers, giveaways, sponsorship elements, etc.
  • Analyze & interpret all digital practices, using metrics and defined KPIs to ensure decisions are driven by data. Circulate efficient and accurate reporting, detailing results of digital marketing campaigns and providing strategic recommendations to the leadership team.
  • Professionally represent the Ontario Reign during games, appearances, community events, etc. in order to nurture existing partner relationships as well as build new partnerships. Work with Toyota Arena staff, Game Operations and Merchandise Vendor to fulfill in-game promotional activities, giveaways and specialty merchandise offerings during home games.

Education Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree (4-year) In Marketing or related field

Experience Qualifications

  • 4-6 years Related work experience in marketing, merchandise or related fields
  • A minimum of 2 years of direct employee supervisor experience, developing career progression and review programs
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in database marketing, marketing and/or advertising.
  • In-house marketing or agency experience with a proven track-record of executing comprehensive plans at/under budget that have produced measurable results
  • Previous hands-on work experience with Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Emplifi, or comparable social analytics platform.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal, with the ability to create relationships and work independently
  • Knowledge of digital marketing, strategy, and sales.
  • Ability to copywrite across multiple touchpoints (campaign taglines, broadcast, social, SEO)
  • Team player who enjoys working in a high-achieving and innovative environment, with a commitment to be top of class
  • Ability to analyze campaign components, provide ROI and KPIs.
  • Structured, goal-oriented, with strong attention to detail
  • Proactive and a problem solver, with strong critical thinking skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), all social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Ability to prioritize, be flexible with changing priorities and multiple projects
  • Able to maintain a flexible schedule including nights and weekends as needed
  • Thorough knowledge of how to develop and deploy an effective multi-channel marketing strategy is preferred
  • Ability to identify distinct audience segments for the purpose of tailored marketing communications is preferred
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and application - branding, advertising, CRM, analytics, and SEO is preferred

Pay Scale: $67,000-$70,000/yr
