Job Description

We are seeking a Marketing Manager for a 12-month contract to deliver upon the brand and acquisition strategy for our major metropolitan mastheads, including The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your strategic and data-focused mindset to drive subscription revenue, boost engagement, and strengthen brand affinity for some of Australia's most trusted newsrooms.
Must have:
  • Support the development and implementation of the annual brand and acquisition strategy
  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of high-impact brand and growth focused campaigns across paid, owned, and earned media channels
  • Shape campaign media strategy and manage the budget for effective spending across all channels
  • Oversee consistent brand application throughout the customer journey and maintain clear brand guidelines
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with creative, media, and research agencies
  • Leverage data and research to shape brand strategy, identify opportunities for growth, and create insightful, action-orientated performance reporting
  • Demonstrated experience in a full-funnel marketing role
  • Proven experience in developing strategies and executing best-in-class campaigns that achieve commercial objectives
  • Sound understanding of brand principles and experience maintaining brand integrity
  • Experience leveraging traditional media and a strong grasp of the digital customer journey
  • Strong agency stakeholder management experience
  • Strong multi-tasking capabilities
  • Highly analytical, data-driven mindset
  • Confidence in articulating marketing activities and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams

Day to day you will:

  • Support the development and implementation of the annual brand and acquisition strategy, using customer insights and emerging trends to champion an ambitious vision for the brands.
  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of high-impact brand and growth focused campaigns across paid, owned, and earned media channels.
  • Shape campaign media strategy and manage the budget for effective spending across all channels.
  • Oversee consistent brand application throughout the customer journey and work with stakeholders to maintain clear brand guidelines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with creative, media, and research agencies to bring world-class creative work to market.
  • Leverage data and research to shape brand strategy, identify opportunities for growth, and create insightful, action-orientated performance reporting.

Qualifications

What you'll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in a full-funnel marketing role.
  • Proven experience in developing strategies and executing best-in-class campaigns that achieve commercial objectives.
  • A passion for brand-building with a sound understanding of brand principles and experience maintaining brand integrity.
  • Experience leveraging traditional media and a strong grasp of the digital customer journey, including performance metrics and channels.
  • Strong agency stakeholder management experience, with the ability to provide clear, actionable feedback.
  • Strong multi-tasking capabilities, with demonstrated skills in managing multiple priorities at any one time.
  • A highly analytical, data-driven mindset with the ability to translate data into strategic insights.
  • Confidence in articulating marketing activities to a wide range of audiences and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
