Must have:
  • Research and stay current on automotive news, trends, and technology.
  • Write and script high-quality reviews, news, features, and opinion pieces.
  • Present video content and collaborate with creative teams.
  • Adhere to strict deadlines and pitch creative story ideas.
  • Utilise SEO strategies and create social media assets.
  • Possess a full driver's license with manual transmission ability.
  • Have prior journalism experience, ideally in automotive.
  • Demonstrate genuine passion for the automotive industry.
  • Exhibit exceptional research, fact-checking, and writing skills.
  • Familiarity with CMS and basic SEO understanding.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Right to lawfully work and live in Australia.

Job Description

We're seeking a talented and driven Automotive Reviews Journalist to join our team, creating captivating news, reviews, and video content that informs and engages a wide audience. This is your chance to test-drive the latest vehicles, interview industry experts, and deliver sharp, insightful analysis on the ever-evolving automotive world.

Day to day you will:

  • Research and stay current on the latest automotive news, trends, and technology.
  • Write and script high-quality, engaging reviews, news, features, and opinion pieces.
  • Present video content, and collaborate with creative teams to enhance your stories.
  • Adhere to strict deadlines while pitching creative story ideas to the editorial team.
  • Utilise SEO strategies to maximize content visibility and create social media assets to promote your work.

Qualifications

What you'll bring:

  • A full driver's license, with the ability to drive a manual transmission.
  • Prior experience in journalism, ideally in the automotive sector.
  • A genuine passion for the automotive industry and a desire to build a career in automotive journalism.
  • Exceptional research, fact-checking, and writing skills with an eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and a basic understanding of SEO.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
