Job Summary
The Content Manager is responsible for the content of assigned product lines, primarily focusing on the quality of online products within the arbitration portfolio. This includes content delivery and development, managing authors and vendors, ensuring manuscripts meet editorial quality standards, and timely delivery. The CM acts as the main in-house contact for these products for authors, vendors, and other departments, ensuring content is up-to-date, relevant, and competitive.
Must Have
- Develop and maintain high-quality, up-to-date content.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, designers, and developers.
- Monitor online integrity of research services.
- Track competitor and market trends.
- Initiate and implement product enhancements.
- Identify, contract, and maintain relationships with new authors.
- Instruct and onboard authors on editorial and content quality standards.
- Ensure authors submit content and corrections on time.
- Ensure all contractual obligations are met.
- Develop and manage annual budget for publishing calendar and editorial fees.
- Oversee and manage invoices against the budget.
- Prepare and submit content to Production according to schedule.
- Update and maintain administrative systems (e.g., PubFlow).
- Support Marketing by reviewing promotional copy.
- Assist Product Management in educating the Sales team.
- Provide product line information to in-house staff.
- Draft and submit monthly reports to the Publishing Director.

Job Description
The Content Manager (CM) holds ultimate responsibility for the content of assigned product lines (part of the arbitration portfolio), with a primary focus on the quality of online products. This includes the delivery and development of content, managing authors and vendors, ensuring that manuscripts meet KLI’s editorial quality standards, and are delivered on time. The CM serves as the principal in-house contact for the same products for both authors/vendors and other departments.
Responsibilities:
Content/Product Development
- Develop and maintain high-quality content, ensuring it is up-to-date and relevant.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, designers, and developers to enhance content presentation and functionality.
- Monitor the online integrity of research services, ensuring all departments involved meet the established success criteria.
- Track competitor and market trends in both subject matter and technology to keep content competitive and relevant.
- Initiate and implement ideas for product enhancements.
Author/Editor/Publishing Vendor Management
- Identify, contract, and maintain relationships with new authors.
- Instruct and onboard authors on editorial and content quality standards, publishing schedules, and editorial tools.
- Ensure authors submit their content and corrections of proofs on time and as agreed.
- Ensure all contractual obligations are met by both KLI and authors for the assigned product line.
Budget/Publishing Calendar Management
- Develop and manage the annual budget for the publishing calendar and editorial fees.
- Oversee and manage invoices against the budget.
- Prepare and submit content to Production according to schedule, ensuring it meets the agreed editorial quality standards.
- Update and maintain administrative systems (e.g., PubFlow).
In-House Product Line Communication and GTM Support
- Support Marketing by reviewing promotional copy for substantive accuracy.
- Assist Product Management in educating the Sales team on the assigned product line.
- Provide product line information to in-house staff.
- Draft and submit monthly reports to the Publishing Director.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Law Degree or University Degree with at least five years of editorial experience in a specific practice area, or
- Three years of experience in a law firm or a similar function
- Arbitration experience would be ideal and preferred
- Fluent in English, preferably a native speaker; knowledge of at least two other foreign languages is preferred
- Advanced PC knowledge; XML knowledge is preferred
