News Summer Internship- unpaid

WCMH-TV is accepting applications for News Summer Internships for Summer 2026. College students can apply for unpaid internships in News, Sports, or Weather, requiring college credit. These internships offer aspiring journalists hands-on experience in a local newsroom, working with reporters, photojournalists, and producers across multiple platforms. Sports interns will shadow the WCMH sports team in the field, at games, and press conferences. Must Have

• Be a college student (Juniors and seniors)
• Be studying journalism, video production, or other communication degrees
• Receive college credit for the internship
• Possess advanced skill level due to project complexity
• Be a collaborative worker with a willingness to learn

WCMH Sports internships are designed for aspiring sports journalists. Interns will work side-by-side with the WCMH sports team. Potential internship opportunities include shadowing in the field, at games and at press conferences.

Internship Details:

• Internship schedules will be based on requirements from college or university
• Interns will be well-supervised and participate in a meaningful learning experience
• Upon completion of the internship, students will be evaluated through a written review by the internship supervisor
