Job Description

This position is responsible for developing and executing a production schedule based on customer orders, focusing on on-time delivery, increasing throughput, and reducing operating/material expenses. The Master Scheduler will utilize MRP software, coordinate with various departments, manage inventory levels, and lead forecasting processes to ensure optimal manufacturing performance and meet customer requirements efficiently and economically.

  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

This position will be responsible for developing and executing a production schedule based on customer orders. The schedule must be focused on on-time delivery, increasing through put and reducing operating/material expense within manufacturing to achieve optimal performance. Ensures equipment and personnel are scheduled, available and able to produce per customer specifications in the most efficient, timely and economical manner. Coordinates efforts with supply chain, molding, prep and mix, trim and shipping areas to ensure customer order and delivery requirements are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees production scheduling activities.
  • Takes a leadership role in the front end of the process.
  • Utilizes MRP software to develop and manage a master production schedule.
  • Coordinates, analyzes and maintains the production schedule to meet customer requirements.
  • Identifies any variances and reports to management and makes recommendations.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate and monitor orders thru the production cycle based on delivery requirement
  • Take a lead role in the forecasting process, create all item level forecasts in production.
  • Manage inventory levels including safety stocks, slow and obsolete stock and inventory levels.
  • Reviews the daily status of materials and resources against production schedule at daily production meetings to review on time delivery and expedited requests and efforts are aligned
  • Recommends actions including outsourcing decisions, overtime, and staffing recommendations.
  • Evaluates urgent customer requests and takes actions to resolve problems.
  • Coordinates with various departments to ensure on time production goals are met.
  • Conducts root cause analysis on scheduling delays and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Provides production support as needed by serving as Production Supervisor on an as needed basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field of study
  • Minimum 3-5 years proven production scheduling management role experience in a manufacturing environment .
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in rubber or plastics manufacturing environment with strength in production scheduling and inventory control
  • Experience with ERP system, preferably Oracle
  • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge with ERP system, preferably Oracle
  • Background in a team oriented environment, a positive attitude, and ability to be a change agent, demonstrated ability to make well informed decisions and a positive perspective regarding the work environment.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between $77,400.00-$110,300.00 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
