Job Summary

Envoy is building the operating system for the modern office, a fully-integrated platform for workspace management, including desk/room reservations, visitor greetings, and delivery tracking. This infrastructure powers over 16,000 workplaces globally. As a Member of Technical Staff, Fullstack, you will join a product-driven engineering team to design resilient micro-services, build fast mobile experiences, and develop features that shape how millions collaborate. The role involves working on the Envoy Workplace platform, unifying space booking, deliveries, emergency management, and analytics to create safer, smarter offices.

Must Have

  • Design and build user-facing features end-to-end, collaborating closely across the stack.
  • Work closely with Product and Design teams to turn ambiguous problems into clear, small bets that deliver customer value.
  • Use external services and APIs where they add leverage, focusing our time on what differentiates Envoy.
  • Improve the platform: pay down tech debt, evolve shared components, and raise the bar via code reviews and pairing.
  • Elevate your team by fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and driving technical excellence.
  • A BS / MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years building production web applications.
  • Shipping React frontends.
  • Experience with a strongly-typed backend (e.g., TypeScript, Kotlin, Java, Go, or Ruby).
  • Experience designing and building backend services, databases, and APIs.
  • Fluency in modern workflows: Git, CI/CD, feature flags, testing at multiple layers, and cloud deployment.

Good to Have

  • Excited about working in a startup environment and taking new products from 0 → 1.
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails and/or legacy Ember.js migrations.
  • Contribute to open-source projects.

About the team

Envoy Workplace unifies space booking, deliveries, emergency management, and analytics so companies can run safer, smarter offices used by thousands of employees daily.

We are a cross-functional team of frontend and backend engineers who work across a variety of platforms. Our backend engineers collaborate closely with our product and design teams to develop new features and iterate on creating great customer experiences. We strive to build systems that focus on scale, usability, and performance. Our team is passionate about new technology, and we constantly seek out the best tools we need to succeed.

This onsite position requires 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday) in our San Francisco HQ office.

You will
