Job Summary

As a Mid-Level 2D Game Artist, the candidate will play a key role in shaping the visual identity of our games. Responsibilities include creating high-quality 2D game art, designing intuitive and attractive UI layouts, wireframing game screens, and producing concept art that captures the look and feel of gameplay experiences. This role involves close collaboration with designers and developers to maintain artistic consistency and optimize assets.

Must Have

  • Design 2D assets including characters, environments, props, icons, effects
  • Create clean, visually appealing, and user-friendly interfaces (menus, HUDs, buttons)
  • Develop detailed wireframes and mockups for game screens and flows
  • Produce concept sketches and detailed illustrations for characters, environments, and gameplay
  • Collaborate with game designers, developers, and other artists
  • 3-8 years of experience in 2D game art
  • Strong portfolio in game UI design, character/environment art, concept art
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma
  • Solid understanding of UI/UX principles specific to games
  • Strong sketching and illustration skills
  • Familiarity with wireframing tools and game art pipelines

Role Overview

As a Mid-Level 2D Game Artist, the candidate will play a key role in shaping the visual identity of our games. The core responsibilities will revolve around creating high-quality 2D game art, designing intuitive and attractive UI layouts, wireframing game screens, and producing concept art that captures the look and feel of gameplay experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Game Art Creation: Design 2D assets including characters, environments, props, icons, effects, aligned with the game's artistic vision.
  • UI/UX Design: Create clean, visually appealing, and user-friendly interfaces. Design menus, HUDs, buttons, and other game UI elements.
  • Wireframing: Develop & understand about creating detailed wireframes and mockups for game screens and flows that aid both game design and development.
  • Concept Art: Produce concept sketches and detailed illustrations that visually communicate ideas and themes for characters, environments, and gameplay.
  • Collaborate closely with game designers, developers, and other artists to maintain artistic consistency and ensure visual alignment with gameplay needs.
  • Participate in design reviews, iterate based on feedback, and maintain high visual standards.
  • Optimize assets for performance and maintain art documentation for production.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3–8 years of experience in 2D game art, preferably in a game development studio.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing skills in game UI design, character/environment art, concept art, and general 2D game aesthetics.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma.
  • Solid understanding of UI/UX principles specific to games.
  • Ability to create both stylized and semi-realistic art styles as per project needs.
  • Strong sketching and illustration skills.
  • Familiarity with wireframing tools and game art pipelines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to take direction and incorporate feedback while maintaining creative ownership.
