Job Summary
We are looking for an Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join our engineering function supporting critical infrastructure platforms. This role involves deploying, operating, and securing private cloud services and infrastructure. Key responsibilities include maintaining platform stability, building and deploying compute/storage/security infrastructure, leading improvements, troubleshooting, managing incidents, monitoring system health, participating in on-call rotation, and providing technical support in customer environments.
Must Have
- Apply best practices in infrastructure operations to maintain platform stability, reliability, and security.
- Build, configure, and deploy compute, storage, and specialist security infrastructure.
- Lead and deliver improvements to infrastructure systems, including automation, monitoring, and alerting.
- Troubleshoot technical problems and update operational playbooks.
- Manage incidents and participate in blameless retrospectives.
- Monitor system health and performance using observability tools; carry out updates and maintenance.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for incident response and escalation.
- Provide technical implementation support in customer environments.
- Collaborate with local support teams and product engineering groups to resolve complex issues.
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Write and maintain scripts to increase system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Document manual and automated processes and maintain operational knowledge bases.
- At least 5 years of experience in infrastructure operations, platform engineering, or DevSecOps.
- Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems internals and administration and Windows.
- Hands-on experience with VMware technologies, specifically vSphere 7 & 8.
- Experience with VMware vSAN, vCloud Suite, and vRealize Automation.
- Experience with deployment and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins).
- Scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Python, Perl, Ruby).
- Solid networking knowledge and experience with debugging/troubleshooting.
- Experience designing and deploying On-Prem/Cloud-based solution architectures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Apply best practices in infrastructure operations to maintain platform stability, reliability, and security.
- Build, configure, and deploy compute, storage, and specialist security infrastructure in line with standard playbooks.
- Lead and deliver improvements to infrastructure systems, including automation, monitoring, and alerting.
- Troubleshoot technical problems and update operational playbooks to improve future response.
- Manage incidents and participate in blameless retrospectives to drive continuous improvement.
- Monitor system health and performance using observability tools; carry out updates and maintenance to ensure platform security and availability.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for incident response and escalation.
- Provide technical implementation support in customer environments, including feasibility assessments for cross-product integrations.
- Collaborate with local support teams and product engineering groups to resolve complex issues.
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Write and maintain scripts to increase system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Document manual and automated processes and maintain operational knowledge bases.
Candidate Profile / Key Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience), with at least 5 years of experience in infrastructure operations, platform engineering, or DevSecOps.
- Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems internals and administration and Windows.
- Hands-on experience with VMware technologies, specifically vSphere 7 & 8.
- Experience with VMware vSAN, vCloud Suite, and vRealize Automation.
- Experience with deployment and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins).
- Scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Python, Perl, Ruby).
- Solid networking knowledge and experience with debugging/troubleshooting.
- Experience designing and deploying On-Prem/Cloud-based solution architectures.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
