Job Summary
LSEG is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Platform Engineer to architect, build, and optimize scalable data platforms for advanced analytics and real-time data processing. This role is pivotal in shaping a cloud-first data strategy, leveraging Azure and Databricks to deliver robust, secure, and high-performance data infrastructure. Responsibilities include designing and implementing Azure data infrastructure, managing Databricks environments, optimizing data storage, implementing monitoring, and ensuring data security and governance.
Must Have
- Demonstrated ability in data engineering or infrastructure roles, with at least 2 years of experience in Azure cloud data platforms.
- Deep understanding of the big data ecosystem (Spark, Delta Lake, Kafka, Hive).
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, especially in data and networking.
- Strong proficiency in Databricks (including workspace management, cluster tuning, and job orchestration).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates).
- Proven understanding of data security, identity management, and RBAC in cloud environments.
Good to Have
- Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect).
- Experience with real-time data processing and streaming architectures.
- Familiarity with data observability tools and practices.
- Exposure to enterprise data governance frameworks.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Platform engineer to architect, build, and optimize scalable data platforms that power advanced analytics and real-time data processing. This role is pivotal in shaping our cloud-first data strategy, leveraging Azure and Databricks to deliver robust, secure, and high-performance data infrastructure.
What you’ll be doing:
- Design and implement scalable data infrastructure using Azure services (e.g., Data Lake, Synapse, Event Hubs, Data Factory).
- Architect and handle Databricks environments for batch and streaming workloads.
- Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of data pipelines.
- Optimize data storage, compute, and networking for performance and cost-efficiency.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability using tools like Azure Monitor, Datadog, or similar.
- Ensure data security, governance, and compliance across all environments.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to guidelines in data infrastructure and cloud engineering.
What you'll bring:
