Job Description

As the Power BI Reporting Lead within our Re/Insurance Data and Analytics team, you will design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale Power BI solutions to enable data-driven decision-making. This hybrid role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to architect scalable, secure, and high-performance Power BI environments, ensuring alignment with business needs and data governance standards. You will lead the design and implementation of Power BI architecture, including data models, dashboards, and reports, while optimizing performance and ensuring security.
Must have:
  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise Power BI architecture.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable Power BI solutions.
  • Develop and enforce Power BI development standards, governance policies, and best practices.
  • Architect and oversee the integration of Power BI with various data sources.
  • Optimize Power BI performance by implementing best practices.
  • Support the deployment of Power BI in enterprise environments.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Power BI architecture, security, and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure Power BI solutions adhere to organizational security policies.
  • Produce comprehensive design documentation, deployment plans, and user guides.
  • Stay current with Power BI innovations and industry best practices.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data analytics, with a focus on Power BI architecture, development, and deployment.
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing enterprise Power BI solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud data platforms such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, and DBT.
  • Experience in migrating on-premises reporting assets to cloud-based Power BI environments.
  • Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards related to enterprise reporting.
  • Knowledge of the re/insurance domain, understanding its data and reporting needs.
  • Knowledge of data engineering concepts, including ETL/ELT processes, to support Power BI data models.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, including Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment of Power BI content.
Good to have:
  • Proficiency in DAX, Power BI Service, Power BI Embedded, and Power BI REST APIs
  • Knowledge of Python, R, or other scripting languages to enhance Power BI capabilities
  • Understanding of information security, data privacy, and cloud security best practices

Description:

As the Power BI Reporting Lead within our Re/Insurance Data and Analytics team, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying enterprise-scale Power BI solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect scalable, secure, and high-performance Power BI environments, ensuring alignment with business needs and data governance standards.

We will count on you to:

  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise Power BI architecture, including data models, dashboards, reports, and data gateways, ensuring optimal performance, usability, and security.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable Power BI solutions, including data modeling, DAX calculations, and visualization best practices.
  • Develop and enforce Power BI development standards, governance policies, and best practices to ensure consistency, security, and maintainability across all reports and dashboards.
  • Architect and oversee the integration of Power BI with various data sources, including Azure Data Lake Storage, Databricks, and other cloud or on-premise data platforms.
  • Optimize Power BI performance by implementing best practices in data modeling, query optimization, and report design.
  • Support the deployment of Power BI in enterprise environments, including managing data refresh schedules, security roles, and workspace governance.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Power BI architecture, including data security, row-level security, and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to ensure Power BI solutions adhere to organizational security policies and data privacy standards.
  • Produce comprehensive design documentation, deployment plans, and user guides.
  • Stay current with Power BI innovations and industry best practices, recommending improvements to enhance reporting capabilities.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data analytics, with a focus on Power BI architecture, development, and deployment.
