Position Overview

As we transition from a world of files to that of products powered by cloud data services, we’re building our core underlying cloud fabric and kernel that is comprised of massively scalable, always-on, globally-deployed cloud services that underpin our customer facing systems. In order to provide a seamless cloud data experience for our customers we’re building a platform that bridges existing products and solutions with our cloud data platform.

We are seeking a highly proficient principal software engineer to help in building our client-side data platform. The successful candidate should have a strong sense of ownership and be able to drive projects through completion. They should be well versed in building highly optimised SDKs and components that can be used in cross-platform environments.

Responsibilities
  • Work on a scrum team of about 7 – 10 team members
  • Demonstrate impact and influence across teams outside of the direct organization
  • Contribute significantly to large-scale, intricate projects involving multiple engineers and cross-functional teams
  • Spearhead solutions for uncertain milestones, from requirement clarification and scope planning to ensuring delivery
  • Influence cross-functional teams and contribute to large-scale projects
  • Be a role model for working in the production codebase for Autodesk Platform Services (C# / .Net Framework & Core) to deliver high-quality, secure, and stable code
  • Develop, troubleshoot, test, and debug C# .Net components
  • Engage directly with customers to provide technical support for complex issues
  • Be a technical leader who influences technical decisions across multiple teams
  • Write technical design documents, participate in design and code reviews within the team, across teams, develop estimates for tasks, and document code
  • Work with an extended team of software developers, QAs, and Product Managers and Architects in the US and other worldwide engineering sites
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily scrum meetings, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives
  • Act as a Product owner for the team; balancing requirements from different sources like PM, Architectural roadmap, and service/component improvement
  • Lead team initiatives and drive key business outcomes
  • Navigate uncertain milestones from concept to successful delivery
  • Lead technical discussions and incident resolutions
  • Mentor team members and foster a culture of knowledge-sharing
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert, make significant contributions to design
  • Utilize expertise in .Net and C#, along with a strong grasp of key design principles
  • Design solutions with a focus on performance, scalability, resiliency, and cost

Minimum Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a software engineer, with a focus on .Net and C# in Windows Desktop environment
  • Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture.
  • Experience in code review following all best practices
  • Knowledge of test-driven development.
  • Mastery in software engineering tools, including Git/GitHub & Jenkins & experience with build and deployment processes.
