This role involves applying innovative techniques, demonstrating deep expertise across engineering disciplines, leading process development, and managing multi-disciplinary teams. The successful candidate will take technical ownership of systems engineering outputs, provide strategic advice, and contribute to defining technical goals and standards compliance.
Must have:

  • Lead development of processes and procedures for continuous improvement.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams in delivering complex engineering projects.
  • Deliver solutions to recognised standards, regulations, or customer specifications.
  • Be on track to achieve or hold Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) status.
  • Take technical ownership of systems engineering outputs.
  • Monitor and advise on emerging health and safety concerns.
  • Contribute to defining technical goals across the business.
  • Interpret and evaluate evolving standards, regulations, and directives.
  • Lead investigations into quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to stakeholders.
  • Define policy, methods, and toolsets for systems engineering aspects.
  • Provide strong technical leadership across multi-discipline teams.
  • Operate with full autonomy.
  • Lead technical estimating for medium- to high-complexity projects.
  • Manage interfaces with external project teams.
  • Meet UK security clearance criteria (minimum SC level).
  • Substantial experience in delivering engineering solutions in highly regulated industries.
Good to have:
  • INCOSE ESEP (or equivalent systems engineering certification).
  • Present technical content at industry events or client briefings.
  • Support business development through relationship-building.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Help define standards compliance guidelines.

🌟 What You’ll Do:

  • 🔬 Apply innovative techniques to develop high-quality, future-ready engineering solutions.
  • 🧠 Demonstrate deep expertise across all major engineering disciplines.
  • 📈 Lead the development of processes and procedures that drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • 🤝 Lead multi-disciplinary teams in delivering high-complexity engineering projects.
  • 📘 Bring proven experience delivering solutions to recognised standards, regulations, or bespoke customer specifications—preferably within highly regulated sectors.
  • 🎓 Be on track to achieve Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) status or hold it already. INCOSE ESEP (or equivalent) highly desirable.
  • 🔧 Take technical ownership of systems engineering outputs across major projects.
  • 🛡️ Monitor and provide strategic advice on emerging health and safety concerns.
  • 🎯 Contribute to the definition of technical goals across the business.
  • 📚 Interpret and evaluate evolving standards, regulations, and directives, embedding this knowledge into business practices.
  • 🛠️ Assess and introduce emerging software tools to enhance delivery and innovation.
  • 🔍 Lead investigations into quality issues, implementing corrective actions to drive improvement.
  • 📢 Prepare and deliver technical presentations to clients, regulators, or external stakeholders.
  • 📑 Define policy, methods, and toolsets for:
  • Business, mission, and stakeholder needs
  • System requirements and architecture
  • System design definition and interfaces
  • System analysis and model-based analysis
  • Verification and validation of system designs
  • 👥 Provide strong technical leadership across multi-discipline teams.
  • 🧭 Operate with full autonomy, requiring no formal technical supervision beyond peer review.
  • 📊 Lead technical estimating for medium- to high-complexity projects.
  • 🔗 Manage interfaces with external project teams, ensuring alignment and quality across all stakeholders.
  • 🎤 Present technical content at industry events or client briefings; support business development through relationship-building.
  • 📂 Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • ✅ Help define standards compliance guidelines across projects and teams.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates substantial experience in delivering engineering solutions in compliance with recognised industry standards, customer-specific codes, or legislative requirements. At least half of this experience should be within highly regulated industries or complex engineering projects.
  • 🎓 Ideally holds, or is actively working toward, Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) status or equivalent professional accreditation.
  • 🌐 INCOSE ESEP (or equivalent systems engineering certification) is highly desirable.
