Job Description

Goodbye Kansas is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Producer to lead the delivery of world-class VFX and animation projects from concept to final delivery. The role involves overseeing project planning, crew allocation, budgeting, and client management, ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest creative standards. The Producer will shape the vision and production approach, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to align creative ambition with practical delivery, providing leadership across technical and creative aspects.
Good To Have:
  • A relevant degree in animation, VFX, film, or a related field.
  • Experience producing both VFX and CG projects.
  • Experience from the Games industry.
Must Have:
  • Lead creative and technical execution of projects from inception through to final delivery.
  • Focus on high-level strategy and forecasting, including managing scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Define project scope and production approach with Executive Producer, Supervisors, and creative leads.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, establishing bids, milestones, and iteration workflows.
  • Manage change orders, scope adjustments, and deadline updates.
  • Oversee MOCAP shoots and delivery of weekly targets.
  • Provide regular project updates to management and communicate financial health.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a CG or VFX production environment.
  • Strong leadership, planning, scheduling, and budget management expertise.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including leading hybrid and remote teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and industry-standard tools like Ftrack/ShotGrid.
  • In-depth understanding of CG and/or VFX pipelines and production dependencies.
  • Experience in bid generation, crew planning, and overall project scoping.

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Producer to lead the delivery of world-class VFX and from concept to final delivery, experience from the Games industry is a plus. You will be responsible for overseeing project planning, crew allocation, budgeting, and client management—ensuring work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest creative standards.

This role plays a key part in shaping the vision and production approach for each project. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to align creative ambition with practical delivery, providing clear leadership across both the technical and creative aspects of production.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the creative and technical execution of projects from inception through to final delivery.
  • Focus on high-level strategy and forecasting, including managing scope, schedule and budget.
  • Work with the Executive Producer, Supervisors, and creative leads to define the scope and production approach.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of project scope and ensure delivery remains on time and on budget.
  • Flag and lead discussions around course correction if creative vision, timeline, or budget diverge from the plan.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the client—establishing bids, milestones, and iteration workflows.
  • Ensure client feedback is clearly interpreted by the VFX Supervisor and communicated effectively to the team.
  • Manage change orders, scope adjustments and deadline updates in coordination with the Executive Producer.
  • Depending on the size of the project, either manage it yourself, or collaborate with the Production Manager and Planning team to schedule and crew each project effectively.
  • Work closely with Supervisors and Leads to manage workflow through all departments.
  • Oversee the execution of MOCAP shoots and delivery of weekly targets for temps and final assets.
  • Provide regular project updates to Heads of Production, Executive Producers, and Studio Management.
  • Communicate the financial health of the project to the Finance team and provide regular reports.
  • Mentor Production Managers, Coordinators and Assistants to help develop the next generation of production talent.
  • Take render planning and pipeline considerations into account when setting and adjusting the master schedule.
  • be involved in the bidding process of new VFX work

What You Bring

  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a CG or VFX production environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse production team.
  • Proven planning, scheduling, and budget management expertise.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including experience leading hybrid and remote teams.
  • A meticulous eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and an eagerness to adopt new tools and technologies.
  • A team first mentality with the ability to lead by example and drive collaboration across departments.
  • Confident working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and/or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Ftrack, Flow (ShotGrid), or other industry-standard production tools.
  • In-depth understanding of CG and/or VFX pipelines and production dependencies.
  • Experience in bid generation, crew planning and overall project scoping.
