Job Summary:

Overview:

Our Team The Disney Entertainment & ESPN (DE&E) Technology Design team thinks beyond what is possible today. They discover, disrupt, and chart a course to where our fans and consumers will be next. Design brings the Disney magic to life by building digital customer experiences via the entire portfolio of both consumer-facing products and internal products and tooling. This includes Sports, Entertainment, News, Streaming and Enterprise Products and Experiences.

As a Product Designer II on the Product Creative Team, you’ll be a key contributor in creating and curating the highest-quality artwork for Disney+ and Hulu that ultimately contributes to the core user-experience of our global audience. You’ll collaborate with our design team and other creative teams across the company to ensure quality standards are met and that an excellent product experience is prioritized. You’ll be responsible for creative execution, concepting and feedback on a variety of artwork projects that span our product offerings. As part of the Product Design group, you’ll always look to balance the essence of the brand story and maintain the integrity of the product user interface; to always ensure the best experience for the user while delighting them with great content and visuals. As a team, you’ll also coordinate and collaborate with other Product Designers working on similar artwork projects. You’ll work with dedicated project managers to balance and prioritize work to ensure a smooth review, approval and delivery process.

Responsibilities:

  • Create exceptional original artwork packages and title treatment design for new titles

  • Ideate and concept creative ways to leverage artwork in new and unexpected ways

  • Regularly receive creative feedback from fellow team members to help guide early concepts and polish final executions

  • Champion artwork design as a way to improve and drive audience engagement

  • Coordinate with our program managers to kickoff, progress and deliver creative projects

  • Effectively communicate creative concepts, aesthetic choices and visual execution with peers within our design team

  • Clearly and constructively communicate design expectations & possible solutions through a product design lens

  • Maintain a solid understanding of the Product design (artwork) specifications and guidelines and are able to communicate them effectively

  • Collaborate and build strong working relationships across the Walt Disney Company

Required Experience/Qualifications:

  • An online portfolio featuring stunning visual design work

  • Strong knowledge of, and passion for typography

  • 3+ years experience as a key creative contributor on a design team

  • Exceptional photo compositing and illustration ability

  • 2-3 years experience designing successful consumer experiences in a fast-paced product-centric, technology environment.

  • Identifying core goals, success-KPI’s and expectations in performance

  • Designing for multiple platforms and screens.

  • Working closely with a cross-functional team of designers, software engineers, product managers, and business owners through all product development phases.

  • Delivering engineering-friendly design specifications and documentation.

  • Familiarity with version control.

  • Informing and evangelizing the design process.

  • Detail oriented

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Professional experience with creating and managing digital content assets in the media/entertainment industry for (mobile, web, TV) is a significant advantage

The hiring range for this position in California is $104,600 to $140,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
