About the role

We are looking for a product manager for our Energy Management System (HEMS). The Enphase Energy Management System is expanding beyond solar and battery solutions. We are integrating smart electric vehicle charging, heat pumps, HVAC devices and intelligent appliances into the Enphase Energy system. Our objective is to provide a system that optimizes the power and energy available for our customers to meet their energy goals i.e. realizing maximum economic savings, reducing their carbon footprint or stabilizing the grid.

As a Product Manager, you will work with our customers (both installers and system owners), sales and applications teams as well as global product development teams to specify, develop, launch, and enhance a comprehensive Energy Management System for our international markets. You will be based in Europe, either in Den Bosch, Netherlands or in Frankfurt in Germany or working remotely. You will report to the HEMS Product Line Manager based in Germany and will require extensive interaction with offshore development teams in USA, India and Australia.

What you will do

• Become the face of the solution for customers, the VOC (Voice of the Customer) for internal stakeholders and own the design of the Energy Management System. Be obsessed with our customers -- who they are, what their needs and pain points are, why they trust certain products and not others, etc. You need to:
• Drive meetings with installer and homeowners. Understand and document emerging intelligent appliances/loads along with hardware and software interfaces exposed by the same to enable them to be integrated into the Enphase Energy Management System
• Understand the prevalence/adoption of heating and cooling devices in the market and work with sales & installers to recognize the business priority of various appliance integrations
• Define system requirements and document customer-facing sequence of operations for new solutions
• Help international development teams develop solutions and prioritize activities by communicating specifications and business priorities for device integrations
• Guide new product introduction by leading the cross-functional team running BETA programs
• Participate in and track the product development process ensuring agile product development and responsiveness to evolving market needs that arise from regulation or new business models such as Virtual Power Plants (VPPs)
• Develop product-related content and documenation in support of sales and account management teams – supported by our Product Marketing colleagues
• Conduct competitive assessments and understand what other energy management systems are offering in the market or developing
• Manage relationships with partners (appliance manufacturers, distribution partners, installers, etc.) to enable successful integrations over the full product lifecycle

Who you are and what you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline like electrical or electronics is required
• Either a masters in an engineering discipline or an MBA from a reputed institution is good to have
• At least 3 years of professional experience in a Product Management or an equivalent functional role is required
• Proficiency in English and Germany is essential.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Desire to work in a highly visible and critical role
• Ability and willingness to work with international teams across multiple time zones
• Prior experience in battery storage, PV inverter or HVAC domains
• Experience in a company that offers energy management solutions with an understanding of the algorithms involved is a huge bonus
