Job Summary

TelevisaUnivision is seeking a Production Systems Engineer responsible for the configuration, preventative, and corrective maintenance of all video/audio and RF production equipment in studios, control rooms, and related facilities. This role involves resolving support requests, installing and upgrading systems, troubleshooting equipment problems, and providing operational training to end-users. Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in module level repair and production systems, with strong troubleshooting skills for various broadcast equipment.

Must Have

  • Resolve support requests and perform preventative maintenance on production systems.
  • Install, upgrade, and maintain production systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with production systems equipment.
  • Troubleshoot plant video distribution, monitoring and distribution equipment.
  • Perform general system maintenance and support.
  • Participate in development and implementation of SOPs and training documents.
  • Provide operational training to end-users.
  • Assist with documenting, maintaining, and creating back-ups of standard configurations.
  • Provide input on equipment and software purchases.
  • Maintain an inventory of current equipment and track issues in ServiceNow.
  • Minimum three to five years of module level repair and system configuration experience.
  • Three plus years of production systems experience (studio or remote productions).
  • Ability to troubleshoot solid state imaging cameras, audio and video servers, video switchers, digital effects and playback systems.
  • Proficiency with PC utilities and related software such as Visio, Excel, Word, Power Point and Access.
  • In-depth understanding of digital audio and video signals, compression methodologies, codecs and standards.
  • Proficient English Oral and Written Communication.

Good to Have

  • Multilingual capabilities in Spanish would be beneficial.

ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:

TelevisaUnivision is looking for a Production Systems Engineer, who will be responsible for but not limited to the configuration, preventative and corrective maintenance of all video/audio and RF production equipment in studios, control rooms and related Univision production plant facilities.

YOR DAY-DAY:

  • Resolve support requests and perform preventative maintenance on production systems, equipment, including but not limited to: switchers, audio consoles, microphones, RF production equipment, video/audio distribution equipment, cameras
  • Install, upgrade, and maintain production systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with production systems equipment
  • Troubleshoot plant video distribution, monitoring and distribution equipment
  • Perform general system maintenance and support
  • Participate in development of SOP and implement SOP’s and training documents pertaining to the various operations of computer systems including but not limited to edit systems, project archiving and network related procedures
  • Provide operational training to end-users, as required
  • Assist with documenting, maintaining and creating back-ups of standard configurations
  • Provide input on equipment and software purchases
  • Maintain an inventory of current equipment including a log showing the latest versions of software running on production systems including: tracking the licensing of software and maintenance agreement status
  • Track all issues in ServiceNow, giving details about tasks performed, solutions to problems solved, and hand off any open items as appropriate with the following shifts.

YOU HAVE:

  • Minimum three to five years of module level repair and system configuration experience; three plus years of production systems experience (including studio or remote productions)
  • Ability to troubleshoot production systems equipment problems, such as distorted audio and video, intermittent performance, interconnect and routing issues
  • Ability to troubleshoot solid state imaging cameras, audio and video servers, audio consoles, video switchers, digital effects and playback systems such as EVS, AVID Airspeeds, character generators and graphics playback systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot distribution equipment such as video routers, DA’s, sync generators, monitoring equipment, 5.1 multichannel audio and audio processing equipment
  • Proficiency with PC utilities and related software such as Visio, Excel, Word, Power Point and Access
  • In depth understanding of digital audio and video signals, compression methodologies, codecs and standards
  • Self-organized with significant attention to detail and procedures
  • Experience supporting end users, including all levels of management with exceptional customer service
  • Ability to follow through on support requests in a timely manner, escalating to other members of the team or manufacturer support when appropriate
  • Ability to prioritize and address multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic work environment
  • Ability to work independently and with other members of a team
  • Demonstrated significant and strong interpersonal and written communications skills
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment as needed (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Proficient English Oral and Written Communication. Multilingual capabilities in Spanish would be beneficial.
