Job Summary

Adobe is seeking a UNIX Administrator with strong technical, process, and automation skills to join its High-Performance Cloud Operations Team. This role involves daily administration of Linux and Unix servers in a business application environment, including system administration tasks, software/hardware support, configuration, and monitoring. The administrator will also support business applications, ensuring overall operability, resiliency, performance, and capacity of production services. The ideal candidate should have excellent Linux/Unix administration experience and customer relation skills.

Must Have

  • Responsible for daily administration of Linux and Unix servers.
  • Monitor trouble ticket queue, perform system troubleshooting, hardware and software system changes.
  • Scripting, patching, system performance monitoring, system sizing, system integration, upgrade implementation, hardware diagnostics and on call support.
  • Work with application administrators to fix and fine-tune applications.
  • Guide application administrators in standard processes related to using underlying UNIX infrastructure.
  • Maintain all system documentation.
  • Excellent hands-on experience with RHEL/CentOS/SUSE including lvm device configuration and management, Kickstart/ Jumpstart, Yum/Satellite, networking.
  • Proficiency in shell or Python scripting for automation.
  • Demonstrable ability to perform UNIX builds such as RHEL and SUSE.
  • Working knowledge of VMware vCenter, System imaging, TCP/IP functionality, networking, Remote administration systems (iLOM, ILO or iDRAC).
  • Knowledge of HP & Dell rack-mount server hardware.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work individually or within a team.

Good to Have

  • Working knowledge of AIX.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as SaltStack, Chef or Ansible.

The challenge

Adobe is seeking as UNIX Administrator with excellent technical, process and automation skills to be part of High-Performance Cloud Operations Team.

As an Infrastructure Administrator, this person is responsible for the daily administration of Linux and Unix servers in a business application environment. This includes general system administration tasks, software and hardware support, system configuration, system monitoring. This person must have excellent Linux/Unix administration experience, with customer relation skills. Candidate should be able to work with business application administrators, helping solve their applications and guide them with standard methodologies. Candidate must be able to express thoughts clearly and capable of working in a team or as a sole contributor. Individual should be self-motivated with very good communication skills. Main point responsible for the overall operability, resiliency, performance, and capacity of owned production services.

What you’ll do

  • System Administration –This person would be responsible for the day-to-day administration of all Linux based servers.   • Documentation –Maintain all system documentation.

What is needed to succeed

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $155,200 -- $289,900 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. In California, the pay range for this position is $200,200 - $289,900

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
