Job Description

The Production Supervisor directs manufacturing team workflow to ensure timely, high-quality assembly processes. This role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include assigning tasks, leading daily production, maintaining product knowledge, improving metrics, and ensuring safety standards. The supervisor will also assist with performance management and cross-train team members.
Must have:
  • Direct workflow and lead daily production efforts to meet manufacturing deliverables
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and assembly protocol
  • Provide ongoing training and communication to team members
  • Establish goals and continually improve production metrics (quality, throughput)
  • Communicate with Production Manager and Cell Leaders
  • Set a tone for work quality and accountability
  • Understand and respond to quality issues affecting final product testing
  • Cross-train team members in various assembly and manufacturing processes
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering staff to develop and define assembly procedures
  • Provide assembly procedural training to employees
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships
  • Lead 5S efforts and set an example for team members
  • Work with production scheduler to control materials usage and maintain inventory accuracy
  • Analyze data and prepare reports
  • Adhere to safety standards and enforce safe work habits (OSHA regulations, facility guidelines)
  • Assist in performance management activities (evaluations, recognition, disciplinary matters)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Manufacturing industry experience
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team atmosphere
  • Superior interpersonal skills and communication abilities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated proficiency with project management and team leadership
  • Experience in the Value Stream with the opening is required
Good to have:

  • Previous supervisory experience highly preferred

Job Details

Production Supervisor

Status: Non-Exempt (Salaried)

Department: Manufacturing

Shifts available: 2nd Shift Monday - Thursday 3:30pm - 2:00am

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor directs the workflow of the manufacturing team to ensure that assembly processes are completed timely and with the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a thorough knowledge of manufacturing best practices along with strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences and stakeholders. The Production Supervisor must be prepared to adapt to the changing needs of a fast-paced manufacturing environment while coaching his/her team to success. The Production Supervisor position is expected to represent with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity at all times.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assign team tasks and lead daily production efforts to meet manufacturing deliverables; assist with assembly and manufacturing tasks when necessary to meet schedules
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and assembly protocol; provide ongoing training and communication to team members
  • Establish goals for the team and work to continually improve production metrics related to quality and throughout
  • Communicate with Production Manager and Cell Leaders regarding expectations to ensure manufacturing is performing at an suitable level
  • Set a tone for work quality and accountability within the team; understand quality issues affecting final product testing and respond appropriately to improve quality metrics
  • Cross-train team members in various assembly and manufacturing processes to increase job satisfaction and promote depth of talent
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering staff to develop and define assembly procedures and the associated training for those procedures; provide assembly procedural training to employees as needed
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with colleagues; work cross- functionally as needed to resolve issues and achieve mutual goals
  • Lead 5S efforts and set the vision and example for all team members to follow
  • Work with production scheduler to control materials usage, maintain inventory accuracy and ensure schedule conformance
  • Analyze data and prepare reports as needed in the course of work
  • Adhere to safety standards at all times while enforcing safe work habits with all team members; this includes all OSHA regulations and facility safety guidelines
  • Assist in performance management activities including preparation of performance evaluations, recognition efforts for strong performing team members, and assistance with disciplinary matters as necessary by partnering with supervisor and HR
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Exempt employees are expected to work as many hours as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities. This may require they work more than eight hours a day and more than five days or 40 hours per week.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred
  • Manufacturing industry experience; preferably within a technology product manufacturing facility
  • Previous supervisory experience highly preferred
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team atmosphere
  • Superior interpersonal skills and communication abilities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated proficiency with project management and team leadership
  • Experience in the Value Stream with the opening is required.

✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. These factors are considered when making an offer of employment.
