A Kforce client, located in the St. Louis, (MO) area, have an opening for a Project Accountant to join their team and support project execution through accurate financial management and collaboration. This role is essential in maintaining job cost accounting integrity, ensuring timely payments, and partnering with internal and external stakeholders. This client offers salary and benefits package, wellness programs and team building events. The position is scheduled as 4 days in the office. Duties:
- Review and process subcontractor invoices for accuracy and compliance
- Manage invoice entry, electronic workflow routing, and payment processing
- Respond to payment inquiries from subcontractors and suppliers
- Prepare and execute joint check agreements
- Coordinate lien waivers for Owner requirements
- Assist with documentation for Owner pay applications
- Support project teams in adhering to financial processes
- Facilitate new project setup and cost code maintenance
- Recommend and implement process improvements
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience
- 2-4 years of relevant experience
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage high transaction volumes and priorities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience in construction industry accounting
- Familiarity with lien waivers, subcontract compliance, and owner pay applications
- Proven ability to implement process improvements
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
