The Quality Control Intern position requires a rigorous, organized, and bilingual individual to perform precise visual and dimensional controls on parts or products using appropriate measuring tools. The intern must methodically record and analyze results, identify non-conformities, and actively contribute to the management and updating of quality documents. Must Have:
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspection of parts or equipment according to established procedures.
  • Identify potential non-conformities and alert the manager or supervisor.

Quality Control Intern

Montreal, QC (Hybrid) – 12 months

Position Summary

The position requires a rigorous, organized, and bilingual individual capable of performing precise visual and dimensional controls on parts or products, using appropriate measuring tools. The intern must methodically record and analyze results, identify non-conformities, and actively contribute to the management and updating of quality documents. The position demands strong observational skills, autonomy, and communication, as well as ease with computer tools such as Windows. Strict adherence to procedures and safety rules, as well as basic technical training or a strong interest in the mechanical and/or electronic industry, are essential to ensure the reliability of quality monitoring within the team.

This position requires a good knowledge of English to interact, support and/or provide services to international clients, employees and/or partners as well as foreign governmental authorities who do not speak French.

Essential Functions

1. Inspection

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspection of parts or equipment according to established procedures.
  • Identify potential non-conformities and alert the manager or supervisor.
  • Use appropriate inspection tools and equipment, respecting safety instructions.
  • Complete inspection reports and ensure follow-up of controlled parts.

2. Metrology

  • Correctly use measuring instruments (caliper, micrometer, measuring column, etc.).
  • Perform basic calibrations or verify the validity of measuring equipment.
  • Take measurements following an established protocol and record results precisely.
  • Ensure the storage, cleanliness, and proper use of metrology instruments.

3. Documentation

  • Draft or update technical documentation related to controls or measurements (audit reports, tracking sheets, checklists...).
  • Archive and classify documents in accordance with traceability requirements.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of documentary procedures (feedback, formulation suggestions).
  • Ensure the confidentiality and accuracy of handled documents.

Minimum Requirements

1. Inspection

  • Basic technical knowledge: Proficiency in essential concepts related to the field (e.g., mechanics, electronics, industrial manufacturing).
  • Sense of observation: Ability to detect anomalies or deviations from standards.
  • Application of procedures: Understanding and adherence to current instructions and standards.
  • Rigor and meticulousness: Ability to perform precise and systematic checks.

2. Metrology

  • Basics in metrology: Understanding of measurement principles, units, and instrument handling (caliper, micrometer, gauge, etc.).
  • Reading plans and tolerances: Ability to interpret a technical drawing, understand dimensional tolerances.
  • Accuracy: Perform reliable and reproducible measurements.
  • Data recording: Correctly note results and identify deviations.

3. Documentation

  • Technical writing: Ability to write clear, precise, and structured reports in French or English.
  • Use of office software: Proficiency in tools like Word, Excel, or specialized software.
  • Filing and archiving: Organization of data and documents in accordance with procedures.
  • Confidentiality and compliance with standards: Respect confidentiality policies and document management.

The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between

Total Target Cash (TTC) 49,569.30 - 79,288.88 CAD Annual
