Job Description

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products by developing and executing effective test strategies. This role requires a strong understanding of both technical testing practices and the business context in which the application operates. By aligning quality assurance efforts with business goals and end-user expectations, the QA Engineer helps ensure that releases are not only functional, but impactful and aligned with real-world usage. The position involves hands-on involvement, full knowledge of Scrum and SAFe, and contributing to performance management.
Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in software quality assurance and test automation
  • Strong understanding of software testing practices, including manual and automated testing
  • Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and SAFe
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Familiarity with test management tools and frameworks

Overview

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products by developing and executing effective test strategies. This role requires a strong understanding of both technical testing practices and the business context in which the application operates. By aligning quality assurance efforts with business goals and end-user expectations, the QA Engineer helps ensure that releases are not only functional, but impactful and aligned with real-world usage. This position will have hands-on involvement and requires full knowledge of Scrum and SAFe. You may be asked to provide input on other team members for the performance management process.

You Have (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in software quality assurance and test automation
  • Strong understanding of software testing practices, including manual and automated testing
  • Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and SAFe
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Familiarity with test management tools and frameworks

You Will (Responsibilities)

  • Develop, document, and execute test plans and strategies to ensure software quality and reliability
  • Collaborate with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to define and align testing requirements with business goals
  • Design and implement automated testing frameworks and scripts to optimize test coverage and efficiency
  • Identify, analyze, and track defects; drive issues to resolution in a timely manner
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, providing quality assurance insights and feedback
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the QA process and broader development lifecycle
  • Support performance management processes by providing input regarding other team members as requested

Location

  • Three Days a week at a Guardian location in Holmdel, NJ

Salary Range:

$80,940.00 - $132,975.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
