JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for an enthusiastic Quality Engineering Intern to join our PHINIA Quality Team in Troy, Michigan.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support development and implementation of Work Instructions (JES), Quality Standards, General Arrangements, and other process related documents: support auditing, development, improvement, and management.
- Support structured problem-solving efforts, as required.
- Follow up on corrective, preventive and improvement actions, as required.
- Support to follow activities with suppliers, run samples.
- Support return of suspect/defective material to suppliers.
- Warranty analysis: log in / manage returns, run tests, log results (in conjunction with Quality Technicians), and coordinate warranty for product produced by third party processors.
- Support 5S in Quality Department areas, and other areas, as required.
- Support Quality Technician activities, as required.
- Special projects / tasks, as assigned.
What we’re looking for
- Actively pursuing BS/MS in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field
- Familiar with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Minitab
- Familiar with Microsoft Power Automate and Power BI
- Strong computer skills; MS Office
- Able to read Product Drawings
- Eager and willing to learn and ability to adapt to new challenges
- Effective problem-solving ability and hands on
- Strong analytical thinker
