The automotive industry is undergoing a major transformation, with technological innovations progressing in new areas called "CASE": Connected, Autonomous, Shared & Service, and Electrification. This department, part of the Research Institute, is advancing the development of technologies that will be the source of future automotive competitiveness.
Nissan has been researching autonomous driving for a long time, and in recent years, has been conducting demonstration experiments of Level 4 autonomous driving (unmanned driving) ride-sharing services in Yokohama Minatomirai. Additionally, in Namie Town, Fukushima Prefecture, we continue to implement manned ride-sharing services, working towards business expansion through regional deployment and developing new services in collaboration with other sectors (e.g., mobility x education, mobility x commerce).
Our team is responsible for building the Mobility Service Platform (MSPF) that supports the realization of these mobility services, utilizing the latest AI technology.
Engineer/System Architect in Cloud/UI/UX Domain
This team, along with the team responsible for the social implementation of mobility services, consists of just under 20 members with diverse backgrounds, including mid-career hires. We work seamlessly from planning new mobility services, system consideration/implementation, to social implementation, engaging in active discussions within the workplace and frequent communication with external parties, including regional stakeholders and software vendors. Depending on the assigned tasks, there may also be collaboration with overseas bases.
System construction is carried out at the office or at home, but for the social implementation of the constructed system, there are frequent business trips involving overnight stays to various cities in Japan, including Namie Town, Fukushima Prefecture.
Our activities are focused on the essence of mobility services aimed at solving social issues, so we often work closely with the service implementation regions. This means our efforts directly contribute to society. It is also an initiative to quickly develop new businesses, making it dynamic and rewarding work where we can see the joy of end-users.
Furthermore, this department also has specialized units conducting research on autonomous driving and AI. By collaborating within the department to realize mobility services, you can acquire expertise as a specialist in the mobility service domain, as well as skills in system architecture, AI development, and cloud development.
In the future, it is possible to aim to become an expert as a system architect or UI/UX engineer for the Mobility Service Platform (MSPF). Additionally, beyond technology development, you can aim for management positions that lead social implementation, cross-sector value creation, and collaboration with external partners.
