As Regulatory Counsel, Privacy, you'll join a global team providing expertise and engaging with regulators on privacy law's role in technology and new legislation. You'll interpret laws, mitigate risk with internal stakeholders, and communicate compliance externally. Responsibilities include advising Compliance, Business, Product, and Engineering teams on legal requirements, offering counsel on compliance programs and policies, and managing government and regulator interactions regarding compliance efforts. The role requires interpreting laws, advising on compliance programs, managing regulator discussions, and ensuring compliance readiness.
Must have:
  • JD, LL.B., or equivalent
  • 7+ years attorney experience
  • 7+ years regulatory compliance experience
  • Global privacy law expertise
  • Admitted to the bar

Minimum qualifications:

  • JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
  • 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
  • 7 years of experience with legal, regulatory, or corporate compliance, including addressing, minimizing, and avoiding regulatory risk.
  • Experience advising on global privacy and data protection laws.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience developing, advising, and evaluating programs that ensure products comply with laws, regulations, and external commitments.
  • Experience engaging with regulators, including State Attorneys General (AGs), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and global data protection authorities.
  • Experience working with technology companies and ability to understand complex technical issues.
  • Experience with managing projects and partnering effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to be action-oriented and seek to meet the highest standards of integrity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, time management, investigative, and attention to detail skills.

As Regulatory Counsel, Privacy, you will join a Global team that provides subject matter expertise and engages with regulators and others to consider the role of privacy law in the changing economy, development of new technology, and passage of new laws and regulations. You will be involved in interpreting laws, partnering with internal stakeholders across the company to mitigate risk, and help communicate our compliance externally.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $224,000-$319,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
