Job Description

ByteDance's AI for Science team is looking for talented individuals to join them in 2025 as Research Scientist Graduates. The team tackles challenges in natural sciences like biology, physics, and materials using machine learning, computational chemistry, and high-throughput computation. You'll be involved in solving real-world problems in biology by combining machine learning methods and high-performance computing approaches like molecular dynamics and quantum chemistry. Must have:

Proficiency in Python and Pytorch
Solid coding skills
Hands-on experience with machine learning algorithms
Deep domain knowledge in protein, DNA/RNA, and organic molecules
Ability to solve problems independently
Good teamwork and communication skills

Good to have:

Experience with molecular dynamics and enhanced sampling algorithms
Experience with protein and bio-molecule modeling
Experience with quantum chemistry density functional theory algorithms
Experience with generative modeling of organic molecules

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: - Proficiency in Python and Pytorch, solid coding skills, and hands-on experience of machine learning algorithms, such as graph neural networks, generative models, reinforcement learning, etc. - Deep domain knowledge in protein, DNA/RNA, and general organic molecules. - Ability to solve problems independently, good teamwork and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience of molecular dynamics and enhanced sampling algorithms. - Experience of protein and bio-molecule modeling. - Experience of quantum chemistry density functional theory algorithms. - Experience of generative modeling of organic molecules. 【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $113500 - $250000 annually.​
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
