Job Description

The Resettlement Program Associate at World Relief supports the Reception & Placement (R&P) program, ensuring newly arriving refugee and immigrant families are welcomed. This role focuses on logistics, housing coordination, administrative support, and client services. World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization engaging in humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening, and refugee & immigrant services. This is a limited-term, full-time, hybrid position in Austin, TX, funded until December 31, 2025.
Good To Have:
  • Proficiency in other languages (Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Spanish, Swahili, etc.).
Must Have:
  • Assist with coordinating logistics for newly arriving families, including airport pickups, initial grocery shopping, and delivery of culturally appropriate meals.
  • Support case managers in scheduling and preparing for client appointments (medical screenings, benefits enrollment, school registration, etc.).
  • Help maintain accurate arrival and service tracking in program databases.
  • Provide administrative support such as filing, copying, and maintaining case files as needed.
  • Support the Housing Coordinator in preparing safe, clean, and welcoming homes for new arrivals.
  • Assist with apartment setups, including furniture delivery, assembling items, and stocking household supplies.
  • Track and organize household items, donations, and purchases to ensure homes meet Cooperative Agreement requirements.
  • Communicate with landlords, housing partners, and utility providers to assist with setting up new accounts and move-in readiness.
  • Accompany clients to appointments when additional staff support is needed.
  • Provide interpretation/translation support if bilingual, when possible.
  • Assist in orienting clients to their new homes and communities, including basics of housing, transportation, and local resources.
  • Support group orientations by preparing materials and assisting with logistics.
  • Mature and personal Christian faith.
  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief.
  • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities.
  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation document.
  • Fluency in English required.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Resettlement Program Associate plays a vital supportive role within the Reception & Placement (R&P) program. This position works closely with the Resettlement Program Manager, Program Specialists, and Case Managers to ensure newly arriving refugee and immigrant families are welcomed with excellence. The Associate’s responsibilities focus heavily on logistics, housing coordination, administrative support, and assisting with client services. This is an ideal role for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys working behind the scenes to make things run smoothly, and has a heart for welcoming newcomers.

This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until December 31, 2025 and contingent upon funding extension.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with coordinating logistics for newly arriving families, including airport pickups, initial grocery shopping, and delivery of culturally appropriate meals.
  • Support case managers in scheduling and preparing for client appointments (medical screenings, benefits enrollment, school registration, etc.).
  • Help maintain accurate arrival and service tracking in program databases.

Housing Coordination

  • Support the Housing Coordinator in preparing safe, clean, and welcoming homes for new arrivals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency in other languages (Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Spanish, Swahili, etc.) is a plus.

$23 - $25 an hour
