Job Description

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a highly motivated Revenue Accounting Operations Manager to join its high-growth Revenue Accounting team. This role involves managing and coordinating revenue accounting close for acquisitions and Marketplace transactions, including reviewing journal entries and reconciliations. The manager will partner with cross-functional teams to implement automation and process improvements, lead special projects, resolve issues, assist with forecasting, and maintain strong SOX controls. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for this fast-paced environment.

Must Have:
  • Manage and coordinate revenue accounting close for acquisitions and Marketplace transactions

  • Implement standard methodologies, automation, and continuous process improvements
  • Lead and assist with special projects and ad hoc requests
  • Leverage quote to cash system and process knowledge to resolve issues
  • Assist with forecast with Corporate FP&A team
  • Establish and maintain strong SOX controls
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related discipline
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting and operation in the technology industry
  • Strong knowledge of Hardware, Software, and SaaS ASC 606 revenue guidance
  • Experience in revenue accounting for Marketplace and Acquisitions
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Google Suite
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Critical thinker with a risk-based approach mindset and strong problem-solving skills
  • Motivated self-starter who takes initiative and drives projects to conclusion
  • Effective communicator with all levels of management and cross-functional organizations

The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical thinking and communication skills. The candidate will be self-motivated with the ability to provide solutions for issues identified. The successful candidate is a competent individual with integrity, accountability, strong interpersonal skills, and a team player. This person will directly report to the Senior Revenue Manager and closely work and manage the other members of the Revenue team. The candidate will be responsible to perform revenue close accounting activities, lead transitions and projects, develop new processes, and improve on the month-end close process. The position requires a hands-on person who is flexible, solutions-oriented, and works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Your Impact

  • Manage and coordinate the revenue accounting close related to acquisitions and Marketplace transactions, including review of monthly journal entries and reconciliations, validation of system data, tracking close status, and reporting close metrics
  • Partner with cross functional business partners to implement standard methodologies, automation, and continuous process improvements
  • Lead and assist with special projects and ad hoc requests as needed, including integration of newly acquired entities
  • Leverage comprehensive quote to cash system and process knowledge to timely identify, quantify, and resolve issues
  • Partner with Corporate FP&A team and assist with forecast
  • Establish and maintain strong SOX controls

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related discipline, CPA preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting and operation in the technology industry. Big 4 and relevant industry experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Hardware, Software, and SaaS ASC 606 revenue guidance
  • Experience in revenue accounting for Marketplace and Acquisitions
  • Experience working with SAP S4/HANA, SAP RAR, NetSuite, and SFDC preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Google Suite
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and execute in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
