Job Summary

Synechron is seeking a Ruby on Rails Engineer to join their team in Belgrade or Novi Sad. This role involves developing long-term projects for a French client, a world leader in B2B economic data, focusing on a corporate compliance application. The engineer will implement new functionalities, prepare UI/UX redesigns, optimize performance, and build RESTful APIs using Ruby 3.2 / Rails 7, collaborating with teams in Serbia and France, following Scrum/Agile methodologies.

Must Have

Participate in the development of long-term projects
Work on corporate compliance app that collects and processes vast amounts of data
Work on the implementation of new functionalities, preparation of UI/UX redesign, and performance optimization
Build RESTful APIs using Ruby 3.2 / Rails 7
Collaborate with development team in Serbia and client team from France
Follow Scrum, Agile methodology
4+ years of experience with Ruby or other programming languages with an interest in Ruby
Good command of JavaScript/JQuery, HTML, CSS
Knowledge of databases, preferably PostgreSQL
Understand the business case for projects
Understand and break down complex problems
Adapt to established coding standards and team culture
Strong skills in understanding large-scale systems and maintaining/improving them
Think continuous improvement is important
Fluent in English
Possess a valid work permit for Serbia

We are working for our French client, which operates in the domain of financial data - world leader in B2B economic data.

Key Responsibilities:

Participate in the development of long-term projects that help companies improve their performance with the world’s largest commercial database
Work on corporate compliance app that collects and processes vast amounts of data
Work on the implementation of new functionalities, preparation of UI/UX redesign, and performance optimization of the current application to facilitate the planned growth of the client base
Work collaboratively within a dedicated team to build RESTful APIs using Ruby 3.2 / Rails 7
Collaborate with our development team in Serbia, as well as the experienced client team from France
Follow the Scrum, Agile methodology

Your Profile:

You are a versatile engineer with 4+ years of experience and in-depth knowledge of Ruby/or in-depth knowledge of any other programming languages, with an interest in continuing your career as a Ruby Engineer
You have a good command of JavaScript/JQuery, HTML, CSS
You have knowledge of different databases, preferably PostgreSQL
You want to understand the business case for the projects you undertake fully
You can understand and break down complex problems
You adapt to established coding standards and team culture, while offering valuable suggestions and improvements
You have strong skills in understanding large-scale systems and maintaining and improving them with a focus on the business domain
You think continuous improvement is important
You are fluent in English
