Backend Software Engineer

Synechron is seeking a Backend Software Engineer for a hybrid role in Novi Sad or Belgrade. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of software development experience, with at least two years in C++, and proficiency in .NET or Java, and RDBMS databases. Responsibilities include developing and optimizing C++ front office applications, designing technical solutions, and collaborating with various teams. The role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Familiarity with distributed cache technologies, AWS, Kafka, KDB/q, Python, and trading systems is a plus. Must Have

• Develop and enhance C++ front office applications and services based on specifications
• Debug, maintain, and optimize existing code
• Design, implement, and test technical solutions from business requirements
• Collaborate with trading desks, middle office, and technology teams
• Identify and manage technical risks and issues
• Participate in code reviews and team discussions
• Provide technical support to stakeholders
• Report on project status and developments to senior management
• 5+ years of experience in software development
• Recent hands-on experience with C++ (minimum of two years)
• Experience with .NET or Java
• Practical experience working with RDBMS databases
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and complete projects with minimal supervision
• Solid understanding of software development processes and lifecycle
• Possess a valid work permit for Serbia

• Knowledge of distributed cache technologies, including Apache Ignite
• Familiarity with AWS, Kafka, KDB/q, and Python
• Experience working on real-time or near real-time trading systems
• Proven experience with Order Management Systems (OMS) and/or risk management solutions

Your profile:

• 5+years of experience in software development
• Recent hands-on experience with C++ (minimum of two years)
• Experience with .NET or Java

• Understanding of coding best practices with the ability to write clean, maintainable, and easily understandable code
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach

• Proven experience with Order Management Systems (OMS) and/or risk management solutions as a plus
