As product catalogs expand across global markets and sales channels, our client is prioritizing the transformation of manual, resource-intensive processes into efficient, scalable, and automated workflows using Salsify as the central platform. This engagement will serve as a strategic foundation for a broader automation initiative focused on improving operational efficiency, data quality, and speed-to-market.

The selected consulting partner will lead a discovery and planning engagement designed to optimize the value of Salsify within the organization. Key objectives include auditing the current-state Salsify environment, recommending underutilized features and automation opportunities, quantifying the business impact of workflow automation, and designing a scalable, future-state architecture for product data management. The consultant will also define and plan a pilot use case to validate automation at scale.

Salsify Workflow Automation Consultant Responsibilities:

• Review the client’s existing Salsify implementation, configuration, and related workflows.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews to capture key use cases, challenges, and manual processes.
• Map the end-to-end product data lifecycle, including handoffs across systems and teams.
• Identify manual tasks and processes that are ideal candidates for automation.
• Define target benchmarks for automation reliability (e.g., 98%+ data enrichment accuracy).
• Evaluate integration needs across systems such as ERP, DAM, PLM, and ecommerce platforms.
• Outline potential trade-offs, risks, and ongoing maintenance considerations.
• Design a scalable and integrated automation model to support SKU and product data growth.
• Deliver a visual comparison of current vs. future-state workflows.
• Develop an implementation roadmap, including milestones, resources, and dependencies.
• Provide a change management and training framework for successful adoption.
• Select and define a high-impact pilot use case to validate scalability and automation value.
• Assess technical and operational implications for integration and data governance.
• Define measurable success criteria, KPIs, and evaluation methodology.
• Recommend next steps for scaling the pilot to broader adoption.

Salsify Workflow Automation Consultant Qualifications:

• 7+ years of demonstrated experience implementing and optimizing Salsify at enterprise scale.
• Proven track record designing and deploying workflow automation strategies within product information management (PIM) ecosystems.
• Strong understanding of Salsify modules, including digital catalog syndication, content grading, readiness reports, and automation rules.
• Hands-on experience with integrations between Salsify and systems such as ERP (e.g., SAP, NetSuite), DAM, PLM, ecommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud), and other third-party data sources.
• Proficiency in mapping and visualizing end-to-end product content workflows and lifecycle stages.
• Experience leading discovery and stakeholder alignment sessions with cross-functional teams including product, digital, marketing, supply chain, and operations.
• Ability to assess technical feasibility of automation, propose scalable architecture, and evaluate maintenance and risk trade-offs.
• Strong documentation skills, including the development of workflow diagrams, functional specifications, integration plans, and change management documentation.
• Familiarity with agile project delivery frameworks and phased implementation planning.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable business insights.
• Certifications or formal training in Salsify, PIM systems, or relevant enterprise architecture tools (preferred).
• Consulting experience or ability to operate autonomously in client-facing roles, managing priorities and driving outcomes on tight timelines.
