Job Summary
Supermassive Games is seeking a Security Engineer to join their IT Infrastructure team. This role involves strengthening the company's security posture by overseeing and investigating security across on-premises, cloud, and operating systems. The engineer will manage security tools, conduct vulnerability assessments, develop security policies, educate staff on IT security, and collaborate with third-party providers to enhance cyber defence. This position offers a broad range of security tasks and opportunities for professional development.
Must Have
- Demonstrable experience in cybersecurity and IT infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with hybrid environments (cloud and on-premises)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Security stack (such as XDR, SIEM, Conditional Access, CSPM)
- Familiarity with security frameworks and their practical application (such as CIS and GDPR)
- Well-organised, thorough, and detail-oriented approach to work
- Ability to contribute effectively both in team settings and when working autonomously
- Strong communication skills when working with colleagues and partners
- Interest in automation and improving security processes

We are seeking a Security Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team and play a critical role in strengthening our security posture. This role covers a wide variety of security tasks and offers the opportunity to shape our organisation's cyber defence strategy while continuing to learn and develop your expertise.
It would be awesome if you have a background within games studio and DevOps/CI environments, but not essential.
Here’s just a snippet of what you’ll be up to:
- Oversee, triage, and investigate security posture across on-premises, cloud services, and operating systems using a variety of threat detection tools and techniques
- Manage and optimize security tools, including Microsoft-native security platform, MDM tools, OpenVAS and other detection/response tools
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, coordinate patch management, and oversee security for company-wide infrastructure and endpoint systems
- Develop and document security policies, procedures, and best practices; ensuring alignment with security frameworks such as CIS and GDPR
- Educate and train staff on IT security, conducting regular awareness and phishing simulation campaigns and maintain cybersecurity training platform
- Evaluate and implement new security tools to ensure organisational fit and continuous improvement
- Build and maintain security compliance-based OS images
- Collaborate with 3rd party cybersecurity service providers to enhance our security capabilities
- Maintain up-to-date security documentation and best practices
