We are looking for talented and experienced 2D FX ANIMATION ARTISTS to join the team for an international auteur short film. Our goal is to be one of the leading animation studios in Europe, and therefore we are looking for the best of the best in every area.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are hiring a Senior 2D FX Animation Artist for an auteur-driven short film. The profile we’re looking for combines strong artistry and problem-solving with a refined sense of timing and visual impact. You will create hand-drawn FX that enhance mood, energy and storytelling, ensuring consistency with the project’s visual language and the Director’s vision.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, animate and finalize hand-drawn 2D FX (especially water) to elevate storytelling and visual rhythm.
• Read storyboards/animatics and plan FX beats, timing and staging aligned with narrative intent.
• Collaborate with the Director/Supervisor and adjacent departments to maintain style, continuity and technical requirements.
• Prepare, organize and present work for reviews; implement timely notes from the FX/Animation Supervisor and Director.
• Ensure deliveries meet quality, format and naming standards within the studio pipeline.

REQUIREMENTS

• 4–5 years’ experience as a 2D FX Animation Artist in animated films or series.
• TVPaint expertise (essential/mandatory).
• Full understanding of the 2D animation process and FX workflows (keys, breakdowns, clean, color/comp handoff).
• Strong draftsmanship, timing and sense of motion; solid perspective and structural drawing applied to FX.
• Ability to follow direction, communicate clearly and iterate quickly based on feedback.
• Awareness of studio production procedures and pipeline.
• Residency in Spain is required due to production/contract needs.
• Work mode: 100% remote (from Spain).
• Language: English working proficiency.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with ShotGrid for tracking; familiarity with other 2D softwares for FX exploration.
• Basic compositing sensibilities and clean handoff for comp.
