Senior Analytics Engineer

The Senior Analytics Engineer will join Attentive's Business Intelligence team to transform complex data into actionable insights and impactful reporting. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining data models, pipelines, and semantic layers to power analytics and decision-making. Partnering with cross-functional engineering teams, the engineer will interpret complex data, optimize infrastructure, and drive efficiency, excelling in a fast-paced environment.

Must Have

• Engage with cross-functional product and engineering teams to define analytics requirements and metrics
• Build robust, exec-facing dashboards to support key business decisions
• Design, build, and maintain scalable dbt and Looker data models
• Use data modeling, statistics, and analytical techniques to extract and analyze data from large datasets
• Develop and manage our data analytics platform Looker
• At least 4 years of experience in analytics or business intelligence
• Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Looker or Tableau
• Proven expertise in writing, optimizing, and utilizing SQL queries
• Familiarity with infrastructure components, ETL processes, and reporting/analytic tools and environments
• Ability to perform rigorous data analysis to support high-impact business and product decisions
• Effective communication skills for presenting analysis results to stakeholders

Good to Have

• Experience building dashboards and analyses using tools like Hex, Jupyter, or other reproducible notebook platforms
• Experience using dbt, Airflow, or other modern ELT/ETL workflows
• Proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages for data analysis and statistical modeling
• Experience contributing to or establishing modeling standards, testing frameworks, or CI/CD workflows for analytics code

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain the data models, pipelines, and semantic layers that power analytics, reporting, and decision-making across Attentive. Partnering closely with cross-functional engineering teams, you will interpret complex data, optimize data infrastructure, and drive efficiency across the organization. The ideal candidate thrives on collaborating with diverse teams, delivering actionable reporting, and excelling in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

What You'll Accomplish

• Engage with cross-functional product and engineering teams to define analytics requirements and metrics
• Build robust, exec-facing dashboards to support key business decisions across the organization
• Design, build, and maintain scalable dbt and Looker data models that support analytics, reporting, and domain ownership
• Use data modeling, statistics, and other analytical techniques to extract and analyze data from large datasets, identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies to drive insights
• Develop and manage our data analytics platform Looker

Your Expertise

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• At least 4 years of experience in analytics or business intelligence, including proficiency with data visualization tools such as Looker or Tableau
• Proven expertise in writing, optimizing, and utilizing SQL queries within a business context
• Familiarity with infrastructure components, ETL processes, and reporting/analytic tools and environments
• Strong ability to manage and execute fast-paced, dynamic projects with a high degree of organization and independence
• Ability to perform rigorous data analysis when needed to support high-impact business and product decisions
• Effective communication skills for presenting analysis results to stakeholders, fostering collaboration, and influencing decision-making across teams

What We Use

• Our infrastructure runs primarily in Kubernetes hosted in AWS’s EKS
• Infrastructure tooling includes Istio, Datadog, Terraform, CloudFlare, and Helm
• Our backend is Java / Spring Boot microservices, built with Gradle, coupled with things like DynamoDB, AirFlow, Postgres, and Redis, hosted via AWS
• Our frontend is built with React and TypeScript, and uses best practices like GraphQL, Storybook, Radix UI, Vite, esbuild, and Playwright
• Our automation is driven by custom and open source machine learning models, lots of data and built with Python, Metaflow, HuggingFace 🤗, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Pandas

• The US base salary range for this full-time position is $108,120 - $155,000 annually + equity + benefits
