The Cell Therapy Analytical Development group at BMS is seeking a motivated individual to perform routine functional characterization of CAR-T and gene edited cells. Must Have

  • Perform routine functional characterization of CAR-T and gene edited cells.
  • Conduct advanced analysis of cell products using flow cytometry, cell-based assays, and molecular methods.
  • Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting analytical platforms and interpreting complex data.
  • Design, plan, execute, and analyze lab experiments.
  • Summarize and present scientific data to stakeholders.
  • Manage inventory of samples and materials, ensuring proper handling and storage.
  • Maintain proper documentation of experimental results using an electronic lab notebook.
  • Ensure a safe work environment according to policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • 3-5 years hands-on experience with flow cytometry method execution, analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with BD flow cytometry instruments, Luminex, Incucyte, FlowJo, and Benchling.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new cell therapy analytical technologies.
  • Excellent aseptic technique and experience with mammalian or primary cell culture.
  • Ability to communicate and justify technical decisions to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Capable of representing the team in cross-functional settings.
  • Independently motivated, able to multi-task, problem-solve, and coordinate activities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects.

Position Summary

The Cell Therapy Analytical Development group is seeking a motivated individual to perform routine functional characterization of CAR-T and gene edited cells used in cell therapy. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of flow cytometry and cell biology as well as an enthusiastic attitude and desire to work collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and advanced analysis of cell products for quality attributes using flow cytometry (BD instruments), cell-based assays (Luminex, Incucyte), and molecular methods.
  • Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting analytical platforms and interpreting complex data sets.
  • Serve as an internal technical resource, supporting team members with technical guidance.
  • Design, plan, execute, and analyze lab experiments.
  • Understand longitudinal data, critically assess assay performance over time, and identify trends or anomalies.
  • Summarize and present scientific data to stakeholders.
  • Manage inventory of samples and materials and ensure proper handling and storage.
  • Maintain proper documentation of experimental results using an electronic lab notebook.
  • Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with policies/procedures/regulations.

Education & Experience

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with flow cytometry method execution, analysis, instrumentation, maintenance, software, and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with key analytical technologies and platforms (e.g., BD flow cytometry instruments, Luminex, Incucyte, FlowJo, Benchling, and other relevant tools). Experience with several of these is preferred, but candidates with expertise in some are encouraged to apply
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies as needed for cell therapy analytics
  • Excellent aseptic technique and experience with mammalian and/or primary cell culture
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and justify technical decisions and actions to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience and ability to represent a team in cross-functional settings
  • Independently motivated with ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and coordinate activities within a team
  • Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Compensation Overview:

Seattle - WA: $88,430 - $107,151

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
