Senior Backend Engineer, PHP and Node.js (Platform)

Playson is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a squad team focused on developing a high-performance platform. The role involves solving deep tech engineering problems to achieve best availability, lowest latency in transaction processing, and efficient resource usage. The engineer will develop and maintain robust backend systems for promotional features, optimize existing systems, lead technical decisions, collaborate with distributed teams, ensure code excellence, and address complex technical challenges with innovative solutions.

Must Have

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong proficiency in PHP with a deep understanding of OOP, SOLID, MVC architectures, and design patterns.
• Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge and experience in Web application frameworks (e.g. Symfony, Laminas,).
• Strong development experience in Node.js/TypeScript.
• Solid grasp of asynchronous programming techniques and their applications in PHP and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), columnar databases (Redshift, ClickHouse), and NoSQL technologies (DynamoDB, MongoDB).
• Skilled in developing and maintaining end-to-end and unit tests.
• Proven track record of developing production-ready solutions.

Good to Have

• Experience with large-scale microservices architecture.
• Experience with Apache Kafka.
• Experience with GRPC.
• Familiarity with cloud providers (AWS, GCP).
• Knowledge of Kubernetes.
• Understanding of application security and industry best practices.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
