The Global Communications team at Wolters Kluwer, which is responsible for elevating the overall company narrative and bringing a consistent, strategic message to our key internal and external stakeholders, is looking for a Senior Communications Specialist, based in India.
Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and practical Communication Specialist to join the Operations CoE team which is part of our global communications team. This hybrid role, based in India, will support strategic internal and external communications initiatives, while promoting a broad range of employee engagement programs with a strong focus on operational excellence, cross-functional collaboration, and crisis communication readiness. You will work as part of a global team to contribute ideas and improve our overall communications strategy, collaborate across teams on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Communications & Campaigns
- Own the yearly communications planning process for the India market
- Manage project timelines and deliverables for central campaigns and events, focused on India, across functions and divisions.
- Lead planning and operations for all-employee and leadership events in India, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
- Distribute internal communications content across channels to our employees in India, ensuring consistency and clarity.
Digital Platforms & Analytics
- Manage SharePoint content and structure, targeting Wolters Kluwer employees in India, to support internal communications goals.
- Oversee Viva Engage, including content posting, calendar management, and engagement monitoring.
- Track and report on campaign-specific and quarterly analytics to inform continuous improvement.
- Maintain distribution lists and monitor shared mailboxes.
External Media Relations
- Support external media relations for the media market in India, under guidance of the Director of External media relations.
- Support the Director of External Media Relations to manage media inquiries and press engagements in India. This includes:
- Coordination of responses to journalists
- Assist in preparing spokespersons for interviews, including developing briefing documents and conducting prep sessions
- Accompanying spokespersons during interviews (or listen in remotely) and ensure factual accuracy in resulting media coverage
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or Journalism or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience in corporate communications, preferably in a global or matrixed organization.
- Strong project management skills with a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and geographies.
- Experience managing internal communication platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, including Viva Engage).
- Proven track record in media relations and stakeholder engagement
- Expert-level attention to detail and deadline-oriented
- Comfortable working in dynamic, high-pressure situations and contributing effectively, and efficiently to crisis communication efforts.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and build relationships across all functions and levels within the organization.
- Travel will be minimal; approximately once or twice a year for two to three days.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
