Nasdaq's Data Product Development group specializes in crafting outstanding and insightful data products from both traditional and non-traditional data sources. We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our growing team. This role involves collaborating with Data Engineering, Data Science, and Product Management professionals to develop and maintain data products. Responsibilities include onboarding, extracting, loading, transforming, enriching, and analyzing new data sources, as well as ensuring data quality through robust checks and monitoring.
Must have:
  • Develop new data products

  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of new data products
  • Implement robust quality checks and monitoring

With this position we offer:

Nasdaq's Data Product Development group specializes in crafting outstanding and insightful data products from both traditional data sources such as stock prices and fundamentals, as well as non-traditional data sources such as Alternative Data (satellite imagery, consumer transactions, GPS transponders). Utilizing data from both internal and external sources, we deliver innovative products that power some of the world’s most successful organizations.

We are now looking for a Senior Data Engineer as we seek to grow our recently established team.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Working alongside seasoned professionals in Data Engineering, Data Science and Product Management,
  • you will help to develop new data products, as well as maintain our existing data products.
  • You will be responsible for onboarding, extracting, loading, transforming, enriching, and analyzing our newest data sources.
  • When a new data product is created, you will also help to ensure its completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and reliability by implementing robust quality checks and monitoring.

We expect you to have:

  • 3-5 years programming experience in Python, Spark, SQL, Java, and unix shell scripting
  • Proven knowledge of financial markets data analysis (ex., stock market prices and volumes)
  • Cloud and systems experience in AWS S3/EC2, Databricks, and linux
  • Solid understanding of Git or other version control software
  • Hands-on experience with exploratory data analysis, data onboarding, and data pipeline
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Have previous experience crafting financial data products.(Plus)
  • Ambitious and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced, startup style environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
