Senior Data Science Manager

Data-driven decision-making is important to game development at EA and AI is fueling more data-driven game features each year. We're looking for a thoughtful and disciplined Sr Data Science manager reporting into the Sr Director of Data Science within the Data & Analytic organization. You will partner with our studio game leads and act as a strategic organizer for the team. Using your expertise in applied statistical modeling, machine learning, AI, and people management to power and guide AI features for our games.

What you'll do

• Lead a team of data scientists: develop their skills and guide communication with game team partners concerning your team's projects.

• Manage your team to build AI features for games to gain insights, simulate decisions, and recommend actions in game.

• As part of the larger data science team, you will guide and mentor a larger community of data scientists, with our data science leadership team, across EA.

• Use your expertise in data science techniques and methodology to gain insights on player behavior and propose features game teams can add to their game.

• Communicate project roadmaps, milestones, experiments and outcomes as a means to show your team's impact on EA game titles.

• Collaborate with other data science team leaders, experienced individual contributors, technical directors and development directors to lead data science strategy for the team and influence data-informed decision-making across EA.

Experience Background

• 8+ years experience in data industry, specifically around data science, AI or related fields.

• 3+ years of leading projects, developing teams of data scientists/experts, and managing relationships with partners.

• 3+ years of professional experience manipulating data sets, building statistical models and deploying models along with experience applying data science methodologies to real-world problems.

• Expert status in analyzing extremely complex, multi-dimensional data sets with a variety of tools

• Experience with project management and process frameworks like Agile and Scrum.

• Programming experience with at least one scripting language: Python, R, or Scala.

• Experience using SQL to query databases.

• Application deployment using AWS, GCP, Virtual Machines, or Docker

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these locations. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location. EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES

• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): º $133,400 - $193,200 CAN Annually

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
