This position is responsible for initiating, developing, and coordinating tie-in promotion campaigns for Sony films, working closely with synergy partners to enhance the Sony brand and support the APAC region. The role involves identifying partners, managing contracts, and securing global and regional deals. Additionally, the incumbent will manage and implement in-theatre marketing and exhibitor campaigns, serving as the primary contact for exhibitors. Key duties include overseeing in-theatre materials, monitoring market trends, organizing promotional events, and maintaining strong relationships with partners to maximize film exposure and campaign impact.

Must Have:

  • Organize promotional events, roadshows, and screenings.
  • Handle promotion activities and reporting.
  • Manage in-theatre materials distribution and checks.
  • Maintain strong relationships with exhibitors and partners.
  • Arrange screenings as per marketing and sales needs.
  • Review and revise movie feature subtitle scripts.

POSITION SUMMARY

  • The position is responsible for initiating beneficial tie-in promotions for Sony films, developing tie-in promotion strategy, planning and coordinating promotion tie-in campaigns. Working closely with synergy partners to enhance Sony brand and supporting APAC region, the incumbent is expected to initiate or push through pan regional or even Global corporate tie-in deals.
  • The position is responsible for the development, management and implementation of in-theatre marketing and the exhibitor marketing campaigns for Sony Pictures films (including exhibitors’ social media), and be the key contact for all exhibitors. He/she will liaise with Marketing and Sales on creation and usage of in-theater materials, in-theater advertising regarding budget and approval process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Initiate tie-in promotion strategy and plan, coordinate promotion tie-in campaigns for all Sony films
  • Identify tie-in partners, maintain key contact database and compile pitching presentations
  • Prepare contracts and submit partners’ creative for approval
  • Support to secure Global, Pan regional and Taiwan tie-in promotion
  • Manage promo site updates to partners
  • Coordinate approval process between partners and head office, manage the relationships between different partners
  • Explore opportunities for promotion event/cash/group bookings sponsorship
  • Monitoring trade marketing trends and competitor activity
  • Work closely with synergy partners (Sony Groups, licensees, publishers, etc.) to enhance Sony brand and increase campaign impact
  • Organize roadshow presentations for major movie releases
  • Organize movie premiere/screenings with tie-in partners to maximize exposure
  • Handle various promotion activities, including promo item ordering/developing, promo report updates and regular conference calls
  • Check for translation errors and make revisions on movie feature subtitle script
  • Manage all In-Theatre Marketing and promotion including exposure, strategy, promotion planning, execution, marketing materials, through liaison with local and internal Cinemas to maximize exposure for our films
  • Manage the In-Theatre Materials Distribution and Theatre Check regularly
  • Maintain good relationships with exhibitors, cinema contacts and tie-in partners
  • Arrange screenings according to Marketing and Sale’s needs

KEY QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • University or above education, degree in marketing, business, or mass communication, advertising or film related field
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in marketing, agency, media, digital or entertainment industry is required
  • 4+ years’ experience in marketing, agency, media, entertainment or digital industry is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, in both English and Chinese
  • Ability to develop local strategies based on head office guideline and strategy
  • Ability to propose best integrated media and marketing strategies/campaigns depending on different genre and titles
  • Keen interest in movies, good understanding of media environment, sensitive to movie and media industry trends
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, time and priority management skills
  • Proficient with MS Office applications and PowerPoint presentation skill is essential, able to use Mac preferred
  • Fast learner, organized, multi-tasking and excellent team player
  • Efficient, flexible and able to work under pressure
  • Sensitive to movie and media industry trend, and A Movie Lover is preferred
