This Spring Internship at Sony Pictures Entertainment offers students a unique opportunity to work with the Post Production team, overseeing and managing the post-production process for Columbia/Tristar feature films. Interns will gain real-world experience in picture editorial, sound, visual effects, and music, assisting with daily office functions, shadowing executives, and learning about post-production schedules and workflows. Must Have:
  • Help with the daily function of the office; answer phones, file, assist the managers, drive ons, etc.
  • Shadow Post Executives on their projects (assist with screenings, learn post schedules, observe and aid in creating purchase orders, help set up editorial & their offices, help wrap editorial teams, learn delivery of films, etc.).
  • Assist with ADR scheduling and loop packets as well as attend a session if on lot.
  • Learn how to create post production schedules.
  • Learn the dailies process and observe PIX, eCinema, and Aspera as it is strongly utilized on every show.
  • Highly organized, resourceful and dependable with excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure in a voluminous deadline-oriented department.
  • Must be willing to take and follow directions as well as be flexible – an ability to work well in an environment where needs and priorities are subject to much revision.
  • Common sense, dependability, discretion and attention to detail are required.
  • Must currently be enrolled in school or university during the duration of the internship.

This Spring Internship is from January 12, 19 or 26, 2026 through April 24th, 2026 (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work 10-29 hours/week, in person in the specified office location. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in an accredited college or university interested in continuing their education through professional experience.

The Post Production team oversees and manages the post process for all Columbia/Tristar feature films. From establishing the budgets that control production workflows for camera and sound on set, through the editing process, to its final delivery, the post team works very closely with the creative executives and filmmakers to ensure the look and sound of the film is at the highest quality. The post process includes picture editorial, sound, visual effects and music. Additionally, our team is responsible for providing quality-controlled content and technical support for special events, previews, and premieres.

Responsibilities:

  • Help with the daily function of the office; answer phones, file, assist the managers, drive ons, etc;
  • Shadow Post Executives on their projects (assist with screenings, learn post schedules, observe and aid in creating purchase orders, help set up editorial & their offices, help wrap editorial teams, learn delivery of films, etc);
  • Assist with (actor re-recording lines) ADR scheduling and loop packets as well as attend a session if on lot;
  • Learn how to create post production schedules; Learn the dailies process and observe PIX, eCinema, and Aspera as it is strongly utilized on every show

Qualifications:

  • Highly organized, resourceful and dependable with excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure in a voluminous deadline-oriented department

The anticipated base salary for this position is $19/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
