Job Summary

The Sound Designer is responsible for handling all facets of game audio production, working as part of a creative game development team. This role involves making games with a diverse team, composing original music, designing brilliant sound effects, collaborating with the creative team, and contributing to process improvements to increase productivity and sonic quality.

Must Have

  • Exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
  • Making games with a diverse team of Game Designers, Artists and Software Engineers.
  • Composing original music in a broad range of styles and genres, including recording, mixing and mastering.
  • Designing brilliant sound effects, atmospheres and sonic textures tailored to each game’s theme.
  • Collaborating and coordinating with the creative team to create superior quality gaming experiences.
  • Contributing to process improvements to increase productivity and sonic quality.
  • Bachelor’s degree in music/sound/media production.
  • 3+ years of professional job experience in a related field.
  • Highly proficient in Pro Tools, Logic, and a wide variety of 3rd party plugins and virtual instruments.
  • Creating rich, compelling musical motifs that bring life to the game and help better tell its story.
  • Designing and creating the overall soundscape of a game, finding equal balance of both style and function.
  • Experience in a variety of microphone position and recording techniques.
  • Experience in a variety of audio engineering techniques.
  • Ability to manage and deliver audio assets for implementation.

Good to Have

  • Proficiency in EastWest, Kontakt and Omnisphere.
  • Own home-studio setup for creating music & sound effects.
  • Excellent communication skills and organizational skills.
  • Ability to take and give constructive feedback.
  • Previous gaming industry experience.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to the ever-changing environment of a fast-growing company.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.

  • Making games with a diverse team of Game Designers, Artists and Software Engineers.
  • Composing original music in a broad range of styles and genres, including recording, mixing and mastering as needed.
  • Designing brilliant sound effects, atmospheres and sonic textures that are tailored to each game’s theme and enhance the gameplay experience.
  • Collaborating and coordinating with the creative team to create superior quality gaming experiences.
  • Contributing to process improvements to increase productivity and the sonic quality of our games.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in music/sound/media production.
